11 moYes, it happens less frequently but it’s still not uncommon. The two party system is broken. The natural progression to this understanding is indoctrination to a political party. Disillusionment with that party. Shifting to moderate and feeling ineffectual. Joining the opposing party. Disillusionment with that party and shifting back to moderate. Disillusionment with the entire two party system.
It is a tool for the powers that be to maintain control of the masses. We the people will never see meaningful change until the majority recognize that and move to change it drastically and permanently.00 Reply

For example, when I was a boy, John Lindsay was the Mayor of New York from January 1, 1966 to December 31, 1973. In 1971, he switched from Republican to Democrat.
You can read about it here...

11 moI cannot say I hear about it happening much.
I hear a lot about dems switching.
It is because dems are pushing such extreme stuff... extreme woke, DEI, trans people in girls sports, cancelling anyone who doesn't think exactly like you, total open borders and utter invasion from 3rd world countries, sex changes on children.
Most rational people do not believe in this stuff.

11 moActually, yes. A few hours ago, some witless, misguided soul said he was excited to go democrat after being republican.

11 moNobody swings towards the left anymore become everyone is realising what a giant grift it is. We also don't like our ethnic groups being replaced with others who have a tendency to commit acts of barbarity which reminds us that our culture is infact superior.

11 moI’ve heard more of the opposite to be honest with you. As well as more people in the middle being pushed farther right. However, I see news stories I’m sure it happens now and again. But not commonly

Anonymous(30-35)11 moNot in my lifetime. I think it happened more in the distant past, but not in recent years. People tend to start out democrat when they are young and naive, and then as they get more life experience and become wiser they shift to the right.
But in recent years, and lot more young people are republican early on and just stay that way.
But most notably, a LOT of democrats of all ages have turned republican, which is understandable given how absolutely insane the left has become.

m 11 moSometimes I wonder what causes the disconnection I feel between what a profile says and what question asks the very same profile. This is happening now.
00 Reply 2.8K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. I have, it happens both ways. On the republican side its usually the pre-maga republicans which rightfully see the war mongering corrupt party they liked was closer to the modern day democrats.
00 Reply6.5K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Of course, just as I have heard of Christians leaving their faith, and haters learning tolerance. Perhaps we'll have a lot of new Democratic voters as many Trump voters feel his love.

@cupcakethedestroyer
Usually children who got the bible battered into their mind & want to rebel against their parents by listening to their "dissident" college lecturer.
This is the only example I've seen. But then they often grow up & realise how dumb their professors are. They also realise what a scam the academia has become. - 11 mo
Again, I’ve just heard the opposite story today. Obviously our algorithms are different and show us things it knows it wants us to see. I just saw the story of a lifetime republican woman well into her 70’s who changed to being a democrat after learning how to fact check everything on her own because she believed all fact checkers were biased agains the conservative party. Turns out, she just found out republicans lie more often, and bigger, than their opponents.
- 11 mo
It’s actually usually the other way around
- 11 mo
Again, this is all relatively received information
- 11 mo
@cupcakethedestroyer
I'm not researching this using algorithms, Google etc, I am telling you as someone who has been interested in my politics for years and has seen a great many people on our side who claim to have been leftists who are now rightists. Once the left were popular & the winners back in the 90's & early 2000's but now they're seen as the uncool losers by most Gen Z & Gen A now. - 11 mo
Yeah, I don’t look this up. This is just what I see in my usual social media feeds. That’s why I said this info is “relatively received.” I’m not saying you’re wrong, I’m saying I don’t hear about it because I don’t care enough to look.

@cupcakethedestroyer
But if you look at the content your ideology is designed to critique, then you can make up your own mind better on whether it is right or wrong.
I can only suggest good faith actors from an English perspective but I'd recommend watching DinoBane to see what the average working class in this country are starting to see.
Carl Benjamin (Sargon of Akkad) is less "extreme" as a libertarian and he's starting to arrive at the same conclusion of the Nationalists. Everyone's starting to see the common issue & enemy lately except the left. But even the left are now beginning to criticise Israel. However they never thought the journalists, think tanks and academics who have been pushing anti-white racism for decades now & often share very similar surnames because the left have been taught all their lives to hate their own people (despite the fact that Europe descended groups now comprise of the fairest & most tolerant ethnicities in the world). - 11 mo
I’m a socialist, not a democrat. I’m not looking to convert, either. Conversion only happens when an individual is open to change
- 11 mo
Then how do you know if Socialism is correct?
- 11 mo
It’s been 6 days dude. I’m tired. Try someone else
- 11 mo
It hasn't been a long conversation at all. It seems to me most leftists are on the left for social reasons...
