Do China’s new divorce and child custody laws make the US look backwards by comparison?

China recently introduced progressive legislation changing how they will manage divorce and child custody disputes moving forward.

By comparison, the US looks downright backwards. As though equality was never the goal.
Should the United States follow suit and institute these same common sense policies? Or should we remain wholly against true equality and egalitarianism?

I think the Chinese have some really good ideas there. In particular the new property division provisions that are going to be in effect in China will prevent women from marrying and then divorcing for money which is actually a fraud perpetrated on a lot of men in the US. Following divorce, women might actually have to go out and get jobs to support themselves the same way men do right now. That seems fair to me.

In general, in makes sense, but housewives still need to be financially compensated for their loss of earnings. Obviously, if the wife stays home to care for the kids, cook, clean etc (all of which is unpaid work), and the husband is out getting paid to work, he's going to be the one who pays for everything, but that doesn't mean he should get to keep everything following a divorce.

Marriage laws are run by the state not the federal government. Each state has slightly different rules. The main federal law on marriage is that a marriage in one state is valid in every other state. Should some state consider similar laws? Yes. It would promote marriage and increased birth rates. States that are pro family growth like Florida would benefit some similar laws.

That seems to be the case because our way of doing it has women taking advantage of men. They will marry with intentions of ha ing a baby then divorcing him and taking at least half of his stuff and enslaving him until the kid turns 18.

It seems like a good law to me and very similar to what I have been saying for years needs to be law in the USA.
