The fundamental problem has always been that Putin has no incentive to do anything but fight the war almost to the last Ukrainian because if there is peace the Ukrainians have the chance to regroup and survive as a nation. Not even attacking Moscow would change this reality- if anything, it would probably make Russians more interested in continuing to fight.
As I see it, the question is whether a written promise to keep Ukraine out of NATO would be enough to stop the fighting along with Russia keeping territory already conquered, including Crimea. At this point, I don’t think even that would go it, and the Ukrainian government wouldn’t agree to that unless forced to by NATO threatening to withdraw all aid.
I think if Trump was elected in 2020 this war never would’ve started. When Putin started masking troops on the border Trump with a thrown sanctions on him. Plus, Trump stopped Putin‘s natural gas pipelines in his first term Biden allowed it giving Putin more money to go to war now that Putin is in Bolden and wants Ukraine. It’s harder to stop them, but I guarantee Trump will
Trump tactic with pissing of allies and pandering to system enemies was set to fail from beginning. I think Bannon and other Trump advisers aren't really that smart as they might think.
Niccolò Machiavelli wrote a book 'The Prince' 16th century about people like Trump
The issue is, what does he intend to do about it without starting WWIII? Will they have to run out of people to fight? They are already contracting with foreign mercenaries to do their fighting. And there hordes of men fleeing Russia and Ukraine so they won't be drafted to die. 😩

As I understand it he is threatening secondary sanctions which would primarily hurt India and China and consequently damage Russia's exports but doesn't seem likely to bring direct military conflict.
He has rightly got great credit for stopping Iran's nuclear weapon ambitions and aside from democrats it seems to have been popular so I imagine it could be quite popular to flex US muscle to his base.
Fowdor was a great expression of US power. They watched it being built for 10 years and designed the GBU-57 bomb to take it out. I saw one assessment by a professional engineer that those bombs would have fractured 30,000 tons of granite around the ventilation shaft.
I would expect his base to support his success. America is certainly being Great Again.
He is getting impatient with Putin. I am not sure that he can really force him into making peace with Ukraine. He can do this last ditch effort and then he needs to walk away from it. America does not need to be part of a war that has no logical conclusion.
@exitseven He was supposed to put an end to this war within 24 hours and I'm pretty sure you're one of the dumbfucks who truly believed that he would, only a few months ago. 😄

@Danzigdawson I knew he would not end it in 24 hours although if he walked away from it Zelensky would surrender the next day
@Danzigdawson: Like a typical totalitarian, you make the fundamental error of thinking you can dictate what others think. Now run along to your Hamas rally……
The self-proclaimed "world's best negotiator" has been doing such a bad job at ending wars as promised and making trade deals as promised that he now to accept defeat and start thinking of who he can scapegoat to blame for his failure. After he is donr blaming Biden again, he'll phrase it all in a way that makes it Putin's fault and that all his failed promises were "sarcasm"
All political theater. Anything a politician says or does is for some purpose. Trump will talk tough one day and if things change he'll be very friendly the next. Trump and Putin would probably be good friends if circumstances allowed them to be.
why would putin trust anything the west says? he isn't, wants what he wants or else. at this point, will aim to take control of all ukraine, or most.
trump been naive, but tried...
He's gonna try end the war to make the whole files situation go away. Interesting, would for sure be a W but I don't see it doing that. Then again people do like to forget and move on.
Trump simply needs to stop thinking about Putin/Russia. Continuing to talk about arming Ukraine is VERY DANGEROUS!!! Let Russia do what they want (in their part of the world), and keep hoping for the possibility of Russia becoming one of our best allies. A nuclear nightmare from Russia is the LAST thing we need.
Given most of his supporters support Putin it could be interesting days ahead.
@Avicenna We don't believe you.
Hey, want to see some real propaganda? Move to Russia for the bigotry, get sent to the front lines in Ukraine!

Mr. "The Art of the Deal" isn't doing so well on the international stage.
No no no. Wrong question. The question should be... do his voters think?
No!
Those idiots may want Trump to bomb Russia !!!
His voters want that war settled.
Let Russia take Ukraine.
I think he should be more patient.
It's an act.
I agree
