Which progress are you talking about?

The vast majority of change comes from people who are selfish and self centered, and don't care to even learn why things are the way they are. There are exceptions to this rule, of course, but it's the rule for a reason.

Changes cause disruption, which is why it's selfish and self centered people who force the most change, and this type of person is rarely moral and is often criminal. Thus, all the wars and blood.

Let's look at Putin. He has concerns about the security of Russia, and his concerns aren't unfounded. But he's not worried about Russian security because he cares about the Russian people, but because he cares about his own personal power and influence. Proof? He's sent over a million of his own people to death in Ukraine (averaging 1100 casualties per day), and he's not showing any signs of slowing down, despite making very little progress. He could have achieved far more security for Russia by diplomacy, but that wouldn't have secured his own personal power as well

The Israel-Palestine conflict is really a result of Iran, who wants to dominate the region and spread their flavor of Islam. Iran has been funding and supplying various terrorist groups, including Hamas in Palestine, to be proxy fighters for Iran. Iran has zero concern for the welfare of Palestinians, but because both Hamas and Iran want to hurt Israel, Iran is happy to fund them. The fallout to the Palestinian people isn't important to them. The same with the host populations of the other terrorist groups they support.

As long as you have leaders who only care about their own power and personal gain, you are going to have war and blood and death. That's the entire history of the human race.
