Things are not as it seems. The Japan deal was not $550B in Japanese investment in the US, it was actually that the US will guarantee $550B in loans by a Japanese companies companies to invest in the US meaning that if a Japanese company builds a factory, they are doing it with taxpayer money and taxpayers are on the hook if they default. This deal was just to direct attention away from Epstein which is why the S&P and the Nasdaq were flat after the news. The US got fleeced on this one.

It’s far from over. No win yet but he will. Everyone needs to understand that every other country wants to do business in the U. S. we are a big market and a wealthy one. Countries will want to make deals, and should. We shouldn’t buy from a country that doesn’t want to take our goods.

It was not really a war. He got the US better trade deals. The results look good so far. I think that the US should uncouple itself from China anyway.

There have not been any trade deals. There have been two or three memorandums to engage into trade negotiations. Any somewhat complex trade deal takes years to finalize. Sending some dumb letter with the threat tariffs means exactly nothing, especially when the tariffs are getting postponed again and again and again.

@DryGermanGuy Japan has signed the largest trade deal ever. We have several pending. The US has taken in 100 billion in tariffs since April with a lot more to come. trump is working on his own timetable and not the snails pace that governments usually work on.
