S. still holds the top spot with a Power Index score of 0.0744, both Russia and China share the second place with identical scores of 0.0788, which is a very narrow gap. This suggests that if the trend continues, either or both countries could challenge U. S. dominance in the near future.

The United States is not the "world's most powerful military," but it is certainly the world's most expensive military, with a budget of about $1 trillion per year, which continues to increase annually.

Since World War II, the U. S. has not won any of the wars it has engaged in. This record does not reflect the strength of a "powerful military."

The U. S. continues to involve itself in conflicts and often promotes wars—currently in Ukraine and Gaza—to support and expand its vast military-industrial complex by maintaining a global demand for military equipment.

That global firepower index is bullshit. It's subjective as hell. It assigns weight randomly. It has very little to do with actual ability to conduct war. That's even more true considering that there are many kinds of wars, locations and circumstances.

All you have to do is look at the many cases of asymmetrical warfare. All the fire power in the world doesn't mean shit unless the situation calls for that specific firepower.
