How fast does rumours run where you live?

I thought I was out of the interest of the gossipers but nooo.

Was out with my two brothers (&niece) yesterday, and today I woke up to 4 messages asking me if and why I had become single - because I clearly wouldn't be out with two men "from another ethnic background" (Danes way of saying POC) if I was still with my partner. 😮‍💨 One of those indivuals has even worked with my oldest brother...

I am currently living in Mexico, and in a popular neighborhood too, so... yes

the rumours and gossip do spread faster than sound does in water...

two neighbors in particular... these ladies were like family to me... merely because they would find out and tell me stuff about my own family and would hear it from them first than hearing it from my family themselves... lmao

I had this the other day with a colleague from Sweden. In Germany we call small towns with 10.000 people or less, a „Kaff“. In Sweden, the equivalent has only 1000 people. So, no wonder, rumors travel faster in their towns. In cities where I live and lived (>100.000 people), practically everybody is anonymous.
