What happens to old people in France that are on the streets?

I see so many people on the streets of the cities I visit, both young and old, begging for anything. They are not violent nor stealing like in the USA, but numerous. Some are old.

I met with a few... they are from all over the globe but some are french. Do they go suicide route, die int he street and removed... go to old persons home?

In France then, some are going:

• To die at the next cold or heat wave, disease, overdose or old age
• To get in touch with non-profit organizations dedicated to this cause so they can be housed for a cost matching their income. As any french (or legal immigrant) is entitled, by law, to a minimum income. Assuming they're not too mentally damaged to deal with the necessary paperwork involved to receive aid.

I hear that is the problem or one of them... maybe they aren't legal but as well, don't speak the language and it's difficult to navigate govt paperwork. if don't have right papers, can't fill them out and there's waiting process... they flubber in the streets. I see young and old.

paperwork is a lot, but there are countless non-profit organizations helping with navigating that, but again, assuming a person is mentally in shape enough to be helped

It says a lot about the failure of our society, if we cannot take care of our Old, Ill, Infirm, Disabled, Damaged & Homeless!

no ice burgs in france. From what I see, France is the ice berg... in some ways.
