The American birth rate is declining, why do you think that is?

The CDC just recently reported that, for the first time in history, more children are being born to women in their 40’s than teenagers. What do you think is the biggest cause for this change?

Me personally? I think manosphere content is helping women of all ages to easily find and mark all unsuitable male partners much more easily than before, making it easier for them to choose whose children to have.

This is pretty simple. It's not immigrants or bullshit content in the manosphere.

Wealth inequality in the US has destroyed the middle class. People can no longer afford to buy a home or a new car. An education that is supposed to be a ticket to a middle class lifestyle has become nothing but huge boat anchor tied around people's necks for life. We live in a "GIG" economy where engineers and coders have basically become migrant workers and "jobs" last a few months instead of a few decades and they are competing against people in 3rd world countries. Our healthcare is the most expensive in the world and what people get for their money is a joke.

So massive debt, no job security, declining real income for decades, and crippling healthcare costs along with a constantly increasing cost of living. Who the fuck would expect white bread America to be scrambling to take on raising kids that cost between $20K to $40K per year to raise? Hell yes, the 1% have taken everything from the middle class. They've drained this society like vampires for the last 4 decades. The American Dream is dead. It's the economics stupid!

i dont think this has anything to do with the manosphere, it's being going on for way longer than that. it's because of a bunch of different reasons. firstly women having the option to not have kids if they dont want to (like it's no longer obligatory in society), birth control methods, abortion access. also women having the full ability to pursue a career, including very high level ones, and many women choosing that over motherhood or delaying it. then there's the whole financial issue; life is way way less affordable than it used to be and children are really expensive. people have to wait until later in life to be able to get enough money to welcome a kid, if they ever can. unless they dont mind living uncomfortably. and often when couples do have kids, it's much less in number, often only one kid. also more and more people (of both genders) just simply dont romanticize parenthood and dont need or want that to give meaning to their life. our society has defocused from marriage & children, and tends to promote wealthy bachelorhood or childfree serious relationships, where people are mainly focused on career advancement and self fullfilment, instead of the white picket fence nuclean family in suburbia like it used to.

Birth rates have been below replacement since the 70s in most of the world. The US isn't that bad when you compare it to Japan or China. Europe is doing pretty badly too. I think Spain has the lowest fertility rate in Europe. Africa and Muslim countries are bucking the trend with higher fertility rates. Back in the US Mormons and Amish have much higher rates then average. More conservative immigrant groups also have higher fertility rates

The "manosphere" is mostly an irrelevant online subculture that will die off in a decade. I don't think the natural inclination for humans is to have kids. Around the world we see that more liberal countries like the US have lower fertility rates. We see exceptions in religious fundamentalist groups. More conservative cultures like Islamic ones put lots of social pressure to have kids. Which I don't think is a good thing.

This is only a prediction vs another prediction but I don't think manosphere can die in a decade at all.

Because it's interconnected with the far-right, which is rising, in EU and in US.

Because it looks like a mechanic response to rise of feminism, and I don't think feminism will calm down before substantial societal progress is made

Wow! I wonder why! Lol. Just to list a few reasons, medical costs are actually insane in the USA, why would anyone have kids if they get charged thousands and more just to give birth. The cost of living is through the roof, I will never understand how it can cost so much just to exist in the USA, most people don’t want to bring kids into that cycle of financial suffering. Changes to laws regarding women’s reproductive rights has made many women hesitant to even get pregnant - if you unfortunately have a non viable or ectopic pregnancy and you live in a state where abortion is illegal, then you could die from medical neglect. It’s not worth risking your life. And finally, the state of the world is a shit show, especially in America over the last few years. I certainly wouldn’t want to have kids in a country that was most likely to be the heart of WW3, led by an orange buffoon.

And the most obvious reason of all: women no longer have to pop out kids just to have value in society. We can have careers, live a meaningful and joyful life, while remaining child free. We do not have to settle with some bum ass man and have kids with him just to be a part of society. Feminism has made this possible.
