It is not bad. There are already too many people on the planet. We will run out of drinking water and other resources if the birth rate continues unchecked. There are people everywhere. They are like dog shit. Developers are building on every square inch of open space and still everyone complains about the housing shortage. It is not sustainable. When I was a kid there was a lot of talk about the population explosion but since people realized that it is good for business you don't hear a peep about it anymore.

Well, the breakeven point (equal replacement point) for society is about 2.1 per couple. COVID may have bumped that up a tiny bit, but many countries aren't near that number and if the number are too low for too long, it won't be pretty.

Maybe, maybe not. It could eventually be self-correcting, where people who choose to not procreate die off for the most part, leaving only people from bigger families.
