No. As i understand it 80s and 90s broken window prison time is catching up to modern day where prison are expected to be over 50% empty in the next few years. We are in a more peaceful time with one exception of 2020 with a global pandemic making people panic for work for money.

These jails are for profit buissness so they got to drum up profit one way or another.

Nobody wants to hire somebody with a criminal record. I heard when people get out of jail, over 90% end up back in jail or die on the streets of homelessness and starvation. Some Christian priests have created businesses that go out of their way to hire people after they get out of jail. Because there chances of getting a job are 99% lower than our chances of getting a job.

There is a county jail near where I live that has a fsam where the inmates grow their own crops for both their own consumption and also to sell at a farmstand. As prisons go it is not a bad place to live. It is much like my college dormitory. Guards have told me that there are people who get arrested purposely so they can get 3 hots and a cot, especially i9n winter.

Yes. Many are homeless by choice. This includes women. Some are homeless by choice because they don’t want to pay child support
