Do you think it is wrong for taxes to be raised on essential items?

I feel it is wrong for the tariffs on imports to still be on the table.

I’ve explained how this is a sales tax in disguise like 1,000 times bit by bit.

Imports are done by an import company , that import company levies a tax on the corporate entity / business who wants their products shipped to America through the import company. As a retaliation to make up the loss income (just like import company did) they levy a tax on the consumer purchasing their product through inflation.

I feel it is wrong to not raise taxes on the wealthiest Americans while promoting legislation and foreign policy to hurt , cripple , and disable the American public.

Now, yes taxes on essential items is plain wrong.

Taxes in general. Are just plain wrong. But without them. We wouldn’t have infrastructure, military and other necessary resources that we need almost every day.
Now! If we could only find honest people who would spend the tax dollars wisely!

I don't think it's wrong. It depends on how the tax revenue is spent and whether it benefits the public. What do you think?

Like what? For things like food there are different structures in different states regarding this.

Depends what the taxes are used for. Not a problem if they keep the cost of the essential item lower than it otherwise would be by subsidizing it. Taxes into the general fund for essential items would generally be considered a problem.

where I live there are no sales taxes on food or clothing. I think that is reasonable.

If it's essential it shouldn't HAVE sales tax. Ie, tampons.
