Somebody sent one of these hats to Brian Stelter. He thinks that President Trump is already planning on a third term. I think Trump is living rent free in his head. Still, if anyone could figure out a way to do this it is our 47th President.

It’s a euphemism. I think most people recognize that the Biden presidency was really just an extension of the Obama presidency. The democrats are still eating themselves alive. So the next two election cycles are the republicans’ to lose, if they don’t get cocky. If they hold onto the same relative level of control, the next presidency will likely be an extension of Drumpf’s administration. Just like Biden did for Obama.
Then again, maybe not. I wonder how many people recall that Vance was fairly vocal about his disapproval of some of Drumpf’s policies and practices during his first administration. JD might not be the puppet the conservatives would hope for. That could also be a good thing. We really need more bipartisanship right now and moving forward. We’re obviously not going to get that from the left as long as Drumpf is still in office.

Sure Trump is going to pull a putin or a Jimmy “Barbecue” as “leader of the free world”. TDS is strong.

Like him, loathe him or just tolerate him, it’s hilarious how before election everyone was calling him the Austrian painter. Now back in office, all those leaders, and execs in media, are all having to squirm awkwardly around him. He’s too nice not to bring up their past comments and really rub their noses in it, although the public have done on social media. As soon as he’s out of office, watch them all reset back to that vitriol. He’s going to have to pardon himself because the lawfare will ramp up again as a deterrent to others.

Watching from the sidelines, I really hope they do a referendum to the country on changing the constitution to allow more than two terms, whether it’s three, four or unlimited (probably a bad idea), just so Trump runs again and wins making it a hat trick. The meltdowns will be so glorious I’ll run out of popcorn. Then only a year later, if Farage wins the UK election, can watch Brits and British media have a complete meltdown as well. Must look up when Europe, France, Germany and Spain next have theirs. We’re in an era of spectator politics, lol.

@crmoore I think that’s due to the spread of left and right, most people were centre, centre-left or centre-right, and anyone who was extreme right or left was few in number and dwindling with people laughing at their absurdity. The ones who were racist just by looking at someone, the ones who said murderers need a hug not prison, the centre thought both of these idiots. Then a massive political earthquake where the left tried to outdo each other in their virtue and decide anyone not up to their ever increasing standards is not welcome and to be reviled so over so many years of divisiveness there’s no middle ground allowed you’re either left or right in a lot of people’s minds. I also notice it often aligns with city based and rural based, being two very different experiences of life. City people also seem to be like the boiling frog analogy, they’ve lived it for so long and incremental changes they accept things rural don’t like high crime levels.

The divide between is ever increasing. Reason seems to be hanging on by a thread. How much longer can this political pendulum keep swinging back and forth between sides sliding further apart. I fear when a large amount of people become unreasonable.
In the meantime, make light of it and laugh, best medicine and hopefully relieves the pressure.

There is no way he will be allowed to run for a third term, though there is the theoretical "loophole" that he could run as vice president and then have the president resign, since the 22nd amendment prevents being elected for more than 2 terms, specifically:

"No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice..."

I think Trump will at least dip a toe into seeing if he can make a 3rd term happen. He's already said, "there are ways to do it". And I think that will be the litmus test of whether you support the country, or just Trump. Because barring a national crisis there is no justification for it.
