Ever have problems with neighbors complaining about your yard?

Complain about your landscaping, some fountain or statue you had, or anything. How did you handle it?

When my wife and I bought our current house it had been more or less abandoned for 7 years. The yard was in rough shape, but the first year we concentrated on fixing up the house itself and continued neglect the yard. One of our neighbors got really mad at that fact.

And by "neglect the yard" I don't mean letting the grass grow too tall- I mean not trimming back overgrown shrubs or planting a flower bed.

I would not live in a bourgeois environment.

My own neighbours are only Thai natives - they have no clue of how a ''proper'' and clean enough 'yard' can be like. Nor have they any ''style'' themselves.

So: no.

It was the other way around, I had the complaints. But valid ones, not about some silly yard or shrubbery.

Depends on scenario, wasn't always able to accomodate them. If I could, I did to be neighborly.

Disappointed. I thought those flamingos would be flag wrapped. Upon a search it appears they don't make them, yet.

I just got a threatening letter in the mail about my yard. I don't think that they realized that is a felony since they used the Postal Service.

We had a Harris banner in our yard. I never saw anyone else touching it, but it was usually messed up beyond what wind could do. Our neighborhood is mostly conservative, which is probably why people messed with it.

I live in civilized, integrated neighborhood. One guy has 7 vehicles in his front yard and his grass is a meter high. Live and let live.
