Texas had their redistricting. What they failed to realize is that a lot of Hispanic voters in Texas split their ballots. For those that don't know what that means, it means they voted for Trump and democrats. Texas's republican lawmakers didn't notice this and redirected based on presidential election results, not congressional district results. At least 2 democrats they're trying to get voted out are likely to get a higher % of the new district's vote. They also failed to notice most Hispanics in Texas are not in favor of Trump's job. They might find it better in their mind to ensure he doesn't maintain a majority in The House, which will mean they may lose several seats as opposed to gaining 5.

And take heart, leftists- Stolen Valor Wes Moore over in Maryland says he’ll deliver you another House seat by gerrymandering even more than previously to eliminate the one Republican House member. Something about “saving democracy”…….

I know it happened, but they redrew it based on the areas that Trump could win that he didn't if they were redrawn. They failed to take into account that it will be into his second year of his second term, and people's views can change. It also didn't look at the possibility of split ballots where Trump was voted in as POTUS while democrats were voted in as representatives.

This remains to be seen. Hispanics are against open border. Nobody can really predict how people will vote but if Repyblicans do not maintain control of congress the mass deportations will be harder to do.

If you're talking about Newsom's plan for California that was predicated on Texas's gerrymandering. He made it quite clear that no districts would be redrawn until 2030 if Texas kept their districts the same until 2030.

A lot of people care one way or another. Trump obviously did, otherwise he wouldn't have asked. The lawmakers in Texas obviously cared otherwise they conservatives wouldn't have redrawn it and the democrats wouldn't have left. the governor of Illinois wouldn't have let them stay. Obama wouldn't support Newsom's idea. The conservatives in California wouldn't have brought up a lawsuit.
I could go on, but those are some major political figures who cared.
