representative democracy. while necessary in times when it took weeks finding out what someone on the other side of the country wanted to vote for politically. ot made sense during those years and was necessary cause the alternative wasn't technically possible. now it is technically possible and there's no excuse not to have a direct policy level democracy instead of the obviously corrupt and dysfunctional representation system that enables indirect oligarchy rather than indirect democracy.
