If I tell everyone I have a classic Mustang, but I really only have an AMC Pacer, am I lying? Or is it just a partial lie, because I at least have a car?

But here's the tricky part.. What if 20 years later I really do get a classic mustang, then does that negate my first claim of having one? This is kind of a gray area. How can you say I didn't have a mustang back then when I obviously have one sitting in the driveway right now?

I get the feeling that he’s a liar and has been in government long enough to manipulate the system to forge an award he maybe didn’t actually earn. If he did serve and he did earn such a medal, it shouldn’t be hard to get his contemporaries to sign off on his gloat. Right?

I gathered that much, but the two decade lapse doesn’t make sense unless there was some controversy surrounding how he earned it. A cursory search of the internet suggests that it shouldn’t take more than a year to receive such recognition officially.
Again, i think someone should track down his military peers to get to the bottom of this mystery. Maybe there was politics or systemic errors. He’s black. I’d even buy some racial discrimination. But his peers will tell it like they saw it. Those are the horses from whose mouths i want to hear. Everything else will ring untrue.
