I would say based on the Gutenberg Printing Press and the public’s positive response feasting upon the vast knowledge being circulated that this would be a false statement however they didn’t have access to the truth prior so, this is an exception.

Once a society believes a set of facts to be a ‘falsehood’ , that society would definitely move away from the truth and forcefully shun it. Even if it is an experiment that yields the same results every single time. Hate takes control against anyone smothering themselves in the truth and showing it out for the world to see.
