Do you agree with this 'The truth will set you free'?

It's from the Bible, and I agree with it... in general. I was thinking about the various Trump trials... what a mess, caused by lies and deceipt, shame.

In other words... find out wha the truth is... so you can move forward.

Expose the truth, so you are not enslaved to the negative emotions holding you back.

But that's not how our world works, especially politics, court, but everywhere. Shame is used to control people, admiting guilt is a weakness with consequences, and people become discarded.

Lies and misperceptions persist. There is a flip side...'the truth will get you into bigger trouble.'. That is true, but you will have emotional freedom rather than emotional bondage.

I agree 'tell the truth' 'seek the truth'... and be free!

I think so.

There is however a distinction in 2 types of truths

One, which is just the unfiltered truth. Good or bad.

And another, that's just an excuse for trouble/offense or thinking of something nasty out of nothing.

I seek the former only.

There are also instances, where voicing the truth can indeed bring a much bigger trouble than just avoiding it.

In the long run, yes. Which is what the Bible is talking about. The long game. But in the short run, in this life? F*** no! The truth will f*** you nearly every time.

yea near term it can hurt! Suffering (good kinds of suffering... there are bad ones) leads to growth which is generally good.
