An online correspondent, making comments after the death of Charlie Kirk, made this comment: Conservatives view Liberals as Wrong, Liberals view Conservatives as Evil. Do you agree with that?

I don’t see Liberals or Conservatives as “evil”.

WE ARE American, what does that mean? We might come from The East, come from The South, come from The West, come from The North, but as long as we are in United States of America, we are the label ‘American’.

As Americans, we want to see our country prosper, our country solve issues, our country win the good fight, and our country uphold the rights of our fellow people because we are American.

The Corporate Media in form of TV or Viral Clip or Newspaper or Radio Broadcast might pull you apart with labels thrown left and right, but we are still American.

As Americans (Left And Right) we want to see our country do good and succeed.
All that is different is our viewpoints on how to get it done.
Some are Pro Capitalist, others Pro Communist, Pro Socialist, Pro some other system, and some don’t see system labels and choose certain aspects to apply to certain areas to achieve the good fight. Point is, we all want the country to succeed so you would think that would make us strong and united alone, but it isn’t.

We are so pushed towards extremes and pushed towards echo chambers or isolated that we forget we are American. 🇺🇸

There is no evil and no bad when it comes to political sides, only bad policy.
Though when we play “we must defend the right at all costs” or “we must defend the left at all costs”, it clouds our judgement to what bad policy means.

We need to come together. We need to come together.
Don’t point fingers as to who is doing it, just do it.

Nope. There are plenty of conservatives who have been characterizing liberals as evil for a long time. Do you remember the conspiracy pages online that predicted the end times were coming because we elected the antichrist in Barrack Obama? How about the incessant rhetoric about him making Sharia law the law of the land in the US? Drumpf contributed to a fair bit of that mess with his birth certificate hoax.
Is there a difference? Obviously there is. Nobody tried to assassinate Obama because of that nonsense. Most people saw all that quackery for what it was. Now? The mainstream media and seventy-five million people have been telling idiots and psychos that everyone who doesn’t bow and kneel to the democrats is evil and must die. So people are actually trying to kill Drumpf. They successfully killed a couple of democrats who dared work with republicans on a bipartisan project in Minnesota, and now Charlie Kirk. They don’t want cooperation and civil discourse. They want to rule unopposed, and they will kill anyone they have to in order to accomplish just that.

For the most part, yes.

Conservatives usually don't take Liberals as seriously as Liberals take Conservatives, if that makes any sense at at all.

From what I've observed with this particular situation, though, is most common Liberals saw him as a threat to democracy and, quite frankly, don't really care that he died. In fact, a lot of them are satisfied and believe that he brought his death upon himself because of what he stood for, while Conservatives are saying the shooter is a hateful Liberal and was trying to silence his freedom of speech, and they seem to find it ironic considering Liberals are typically anti gun violence.

But I think people are forgetting that, no matter what Kirk's political party was, a man was killed, and a wife lost her husband, and two children lost their father. I think 99% of the population has lost themselves so much to politics that they've forgotten about being human. Nobody deserves to die like that, and his family has to suffer the trauma of what happened.

Like actual conservatives or the new wave far right wing self-proclaimed conservatives?
The first I just disagree with, they are mostly uniformed, but not really harmfull just a bit egoistic. While I disgree with them they are just another political opinion. My main concern with them is that they are more likely to ally themselve with fascist than progressives.
The later are just evil hateful hypocrites. Yeah that fits.
That conservatives see liberals as wrong fits as well. Their world view is outdated and they can't accept that things change, so they see everything new as bad and wrong.

As a liberal I view Trumpists as evil. Their policy choices are often cruel and have deadly consequences for those who are less fortunate. There's no need for that in the world today, and certainly not in the US which is the wealthiest country in the history of the world (for the moment). The top 1% have about 45% of the world's wealth, surely more than one could ever need, and yet oddly they have convinceda sizable portion of the population that they should NOT pay a fair share of taxes lest they take their ball and go elsewhere. But that's the current Republican Party, not conservatives. True liberal or conservative is not necessarily wrong or evil but differ in methods to an end. These guys are only interested in power and money and do NOT serve the people that elected them.

You're looking at a spiritual dynamic, not a simple political disagreement. A Liberal impulse, in its essence, is a good thing: it's about freedom and individual spirit. But if it's not balanced, it becomes a cancer, a kind of spiritual cancer where people become selfish and lose their connection to the whole. A Conservative impulse, in its essence, is also a good thing: it's about order and community. But if it's not balanced, it becomes a prison, a kind of spiritual death where people lose their individuality and become part of a soulless machine. So, a Liberal can see a Conservative as 'evil' because they see them as a prison, and a Conservative can see a Liberal as 'wrong' because they see them as a disease. Both are right, and both are wrong, because they're only seeing one side of a necessary polarity. It's not about being evil or wrong; it's about one necessary, good impulse becoming a disease when it's not balanced by its opposite.

No. Having an acting dictator in office will make a situation seem worse than it is as he is setting up a false play. Acting it out. Spreading lies.

The right are loud and know exactly what is going on and enjoying the playground bully. The left are weak but learning to stand up and speak up. Both side have lost communication skills thanks to social media.

There will never be intelligent debates again as all the people with half a brain have dumbed themselves down in order to adapt. And the rest are too full of hate they are constantly fed 24/7, accurate or not, they don't know how to think for self.

Labels aren't going away.

Pretty much. As an independent, I get it from both sides and can confirm, most of the time if you disagree with someone on the right, they'll just label you wrong or dumb and move along while if you disagree with someone on the left, they'll view you as evil and proceed to viciously attack you verbally.
