To comment further past his thoughts. These extremes are insane though. Trump is making this second term absolutely personal vengeance. I hear he's even stirring GOP opinion on this one. I noticed he waited until in UK to do it. Always in another country. Last big idiotic move he was in Scotland.

People should be held responsible for what they say, but not by the government, not in the US.

Death threats, etc., are illegal. This is Trump's government essentially telling ABC to obey them or face severe consequences (loss of FCC licence, blocking any future mergers, etc.).

Kimmel's wasn't all that bad. That could be said with almost no joking by changing a few words, and it is 100% factual. He never actually mocked the fact that Kirk was dead. He mocked Trump's reaction to it. The funniest thing was saying that Trump is at the construction stage of grief.

AFAICS he talked about MAGA making political points (true) and insisting without evidence that the shooter was leftist (also true), and about Trump not being able to even fake interest in Kirk's death and being more interested in his ballroom (with clips of Trump to prove it).
