A simple internet search on any browser will tell you the answer, yet i have a feeling that won't be enough for the people that just "feel" they are correct regardless of data. But just in case here you go.

Over the past 20 years, the data indicates that right-wing extremist violence has been more frequent and more deadly than left-wing violence in the United States. According to various sources, right-wing extremists have been responsible for a significant number of ideologically motivated homicides and violent events.

For instance, a study by the Cato Institute found that since January 1, 2020, right-wing terrorists accounted for over half of the murders attributed to political violence, while left-wingers were responsible for about 22% of such murders

Similarly, a report by the Global Project Against Hate and Extremism stated that far-right extremists have committed far more ideologically motivated homicides than far-left or radical Islamist extremists since 1990, including 227 events that took more than 520 lives

Moreover, the Conversation highlighted that right-wing extremist violence has been more frequent and more lethal than left-wing violence in recent years, with a disproportionate impact on public figures and government personnel

This trend is also reflected in the data from the University of Maryland, which showed that in the first half of 2025, 35% of violent events tracked targeted U. S. government personnel or facilities, with right-wing extremist violence being particularly deadly

These findings suggest that, over the past two decades, right-wing extremist violence has been more prevalent and has resulted in more fatalities compared to left-wing violence.

Oh, it's the right. It's definitely the right because the numbers back that up. The Department of Justice did a study showing that political violence is dominated by the right (but the left has been trending upward). I was just reading it the other day and was going to cite here, but, unfortunately, it was just taken down. Here's a USA Today link about the study and its being taken down. I always get told the right does so much and then I'm given examples like Jan 6th where a girl on the right was shot and died... oh, they broke a window. I guess I'll forget about all the other riots from the left with a lot more carnage than that. I'll get told Melissa Hortman and then when I do my research the killer is on the left, appointed by Tim Waltz, and had No Kings Protests fliers in the back seat. How is that right wing? Also I believe this kind of questioning is divisive and even though the stats show more towards the right it doesn't matter. Human beings in America are becoming more and more violent. We need to come together over this and stop this hate towards each other. The main stream media on all ends has been more opinion and talk showish than caring about being objectively true or fact based so dick them. Lets sall be friends, grab a beer and be ok with disagreeing with each other, and not having to kill each other over it.

The post only mentions politically-motivated homicides. There are other forms of violence: riots, assault, robbery for example. And it's interesting that the US cities with the highest crime rates are run by Democrats.

I frankly don't know if left or right is more violent, and frankly, I don't care. All violence is wrong, and society should do what it can to reduce its occurrence.

Honestly I couldn’t say they both have direct or indirect causation in political violence.
I can say this for a fact the moderates that are not affiliated with a party have 0 violent offenses that are politically motivated so let’s start giving them the attention they deserve and listen to the opinions they formed themselves instead of in some echo chamber…
