They didn’t fire him, only suspended him. ABC was testing the water. They really want to get rid of him because his ratings are down and affiliate stations are dropping Kimmel, they will be shows local news instead. That’s a big loss of money for ABC.

We'll see how long it lasts. If Nexstar think their $6.2 billion deal to acquire Tegna is more important than free speech, Disney might claim "financial" reasons for dropping him again. That's how Trump's administration breaks the 1st amendment.

Don't read too much into this. Let's see what Kimmel says in his first monologue. My guess is he's going to be penitent and apologetic... or his show will disappear for good.

Bottom line is that ABC doesn't have anything better to put in the show's place. I heard they tried to show reruns of old Family Feud gameshows.

Heard Disney told their ABC affiliate stations that if Kimmel wasn't reinstated their market areas wouldn't get the NFL programming.
Disney thinks they're bigger than the FCC. I wouldn't be surprised when Bob Iger steps down for some other jackass to take over that he just doesn't attempt to sell off Star Wars before he leaves.
