What's behind Germany's Unconditional Support for Israel?

Germany's support for Israel feels extremely one-sided, especially considering what's happening in Gaza. I understand their historical responsibility because of the Holocaust. That’s not a small thing. But how far does that go? Does it mean ignoring thousands of dead civilians I’ve seen videos from Gaza that are just horrifying. Kids being pulled from rubble, entire families killed, and in one case, a child’s body dragged in front of his mother. How can anyone who claims to care about human rights look away from that? What really confuses me is how Germany is super vocal about Ukraine. They talk about international law and protecting lives. Why doesn’t that same logic apply to Palestinians? This isn’t about denying Israel’s right to exist or defend itself. But when people are being killed like this, staying silent or giving blind support is just wrong! I’m really curious if anyone here understands how this is seen inside Germany. Is there any debate about it?
