In 2009 when Barack was president Barack Obama won the Nobel peace prize

9 moObama should have NEVER gotten that. Ruined its significance. Trump doesn't deserve it either. Better for some NGO leaders or diplomats to get it.

Everyone is kissing Trump’s ass in the Middle East for bringing a halt to the war in Gaza. Which by the way Hamas is using now to round out people and publicly executing them. He solved other decades long wars as well in the past few months. Everyone would still be killing and dying with Sleepy Joe or what’s-her-name in the Oval Office.
- 9 mo
@DrPepper12 you are correct. Obama got the peace prize for talking about peace never really doing anything about it.
Now where I disagree is Trump is now and even in his first term always working towards peace. - 9 mo
@BadApple69 Nothing Trump has done is in the interest of "peace" because he's doesn't give a shit about people, or nations, except for how it would benefit himself personally. It's the same as telling your neighbors across the street to stop fighting with each other because the noise is killing your kids lemonade stand business. You don't really give a shit about your neighbors OR your neighborhood's peace, you just care that you're losing money. THAT is the ONLY thing Trump cares about, and that's NOT worthy of a Nobel prize. I also agree that Obama receiving the prize was an overreach, but no way in this universe should Trump even be under consideration.
One last point: You shouldn't EXPECT a Peace Prize when you financially support via aid and weaponry, the annihilation, incineration, obliteration and genocide of a group of people. When your administration posts vile AI videos of turning Gaza into a "Trump resort" while people are being bombed and starved, you shouldn't expect a Peace Prize - you should expect to be ridiculed. - 9 mo
@loveslongnails he just got a peace deal in the Middle East. If you can’t agree that’s a good thing then you are suffering badly with TDS. And now he will be going after Russia to stop that war too.
- 9 mo
- 9 mo
@BadApple69 I agree Obama shouldn’t have got the prize. Whoever won it now, I know nothing about. Trump got a temporary cease fire. Let’s remember, Israel and Palestinians are like hayfields and McCoys. Fighting won’t stop. why? They want the same thing! If you and someone else want the same, how do you get peace?
- 9 mo
Hatfields
- 9 mo
@BadApple69 He got shit, dude. You're the one with derangement syndrome. Nothing Israel agrees to is worth the paper it's written on anyway. Stop being such and effin toadie. Everything I said above about Trump is true, and you know it.
- 9 mo
@katiesmuff I think he has solved a lot actually. The most recent point would be the cessation of hostilities in Gaza. While marked as a great breakthrough by many it is of course a pause in an endless series of hostilities and suffering. But at least it is a pause, perhaps it could last years as that would be nice.
- 9 mo
@katiesmuff lol Mexico paying for the wall and Canada and Greenland part of USA. So comical 😆
- 9 mo
@DrPepper12,
Agreed unfortunately. What was that, like a week after he won the election? It damaged the credibility of the Nobel committee and it sort of cheapened the win for Obama too. I'm sure he was thinking WTF, this is embarrassing.
In the rear view mirror they were patting America on the back for rising above our history of racism... oops, not so fast boys... here comes MAGA. The shitbags are alive and well in the land of freedumb. - 9 mo
Andrew Johnson and Harry Truman two other U. S. presidents talked about buying Greenland. Strategically it’s a very good idea.
As for Canada? It’s a leftist shithole. If we wait long enough they will beg to be a part of the US, and we can purchase it at clearance rack prices. - 9 mo
@loveslongnails ,
Yup. It's like Hitler putting out a propaganda film to promote turning the Warsaw ghettos into a Nazi theme park after they murdered all the residents. Peace through mass murder doesn't deserve a trophy. - 9 mo
@OneViewpoint Precisely. That was such a total grotesque thing to do, just one of a thousand disgusting things Trump has done over the course of the past 10 years. Any one of those things should have eliminated him from the position he's in, but the grand ignorance demonstrated by Americans who continually disregard the vileness of this imp, is just astounding. At this point, it doesn't even matter now that they've purchased the voting machine company. Elections no longer matter in the USA, whatsoever.
- 9 mo
@loveslongnails I didn’t know about the voting machine company purchase. I had to look it up.
Here is the headline from CNN.
“Former GOP election official buys Dominion Voting Systems, says he’ll push for paper ballots”
He will push for paper ballots? WOW that sounds like he is trying to steal the elections.
John Poulos the old owner of dominion voting systems actually ran for office as a Democrat many years before. Did that bother you too? Or is only because now it’s owned by a Republican.
Oh and on HBO there was a documentary called “kill chain” about the security issues with the voting machines and of course this was right after trumps win against Hillary and there were several Democrat politicians in that movie discussing these security issues. Amazingly enough none of them got sued by dominion voting machines.
It’s all a fucking game and you are I are the real losers.
We need in person voting, and voter ID.
Sorry to get off topic but you did mention the voting machine company purchase. - 9 mo
@BadApple69 it is a game and it screws all of us over. You’re totally right.
Anyone going to the No kings protests? - 9 mo
@blackeagle007 No kings… lol what a joke. Nothing will change for more than 3 years so just settle in. At least don’t burn out small businesses this time… what a bunch of losers.
- 9 mo
@blackeagle007 Maybe No Tyrants. Our King is pretty cool. C:

@blackeagle007 nah, things will brighten up between now and then and people will remember the last time when Biden/Harris got in it went to sh! t. You can’t un-fvck what Biden did with adding 40% more dollars and the ensuing inflation. The open borders led to soaring house prices and other problems. They won’t forget this next time, nope, won’t happen.

@blackeagle007 Sending in the Guard has saved lives in Washington DC undeniably so. Young black males too. They are likely Democrat voters ironically.

@blackeagle007
From AI (Grok). There was a 53% decrease from this year when the Guard was deployed vs the same time last year. That is 8 people not dead. And at least 4 people not dead using partial month data for this year and a different follow on mouth (September). That’s real people not dead.
Month Homicides (Victims) Notes|
|----------------|---------------------|-------|
July 2025 (Month before deployment) 11 Baseline prior to Guard activation.
August 2025 (Month of deployment) 7 Deployment began mid-month; a 38% decrease from July.
September 2025 (Month after deployment) 7 Stable from August, with 7 incidents and victims.
#### Comparison to Prior Years for August (Pre-Deployment Baseline vs. Deployment Month)
To contextualize August 2025 against historical norms, here's how it compares to the same month in the immediate prior year:
Year August Homicides (Victims) Change from Prior Year|
|------|----------------------------|-------------------------|
August 2024 15 -
August 2025 7 -8 (-53%)

@loveslongnails While people are suffering in Gaza, it’s important to be clear about the responsibility lies with Hamas, not Israel. Hamas has ruled Gaza for years, built tunnels instead of infrastructure, and used civilians as human shields while launching rockets at Israeli cities. Any country had to respond to that kind of aggression.
Israel actually gives advance warnings before strikes, runs an evacuation and humanitarian coordination program, and provides water, electricity, and food - on Israel’s expense, not Gaza’s. Hamas, meanwhile, steals and blocks aid to maintain control and propaganda. So while the suffering is real and tragic, the root cause is Hamas’ actions, not Israel defending itself. - 8 mo
@smølf This is bullshit. You've been brainwashed by Israeli propaganda for years. Israel does NONE of the things you claim. They cut off electricity, they do not provide. They blockade food and medical supplies. Look what they did to the flotilla, hmmm?
Hamas is a bunch of ill-funded rag tags supported loosely by the Russians at times, and Iran. All Israel ever had to do is concede the West Bank and Gaza. They were literally GIFTED the land they're on now, but what was the first thing they did - the Nakba. Look it up. They are the occupiers. Gaza is now leveled as Israel has used the "tunnels" excuse to bomb residences, hospitals, schools and anything else, out of existence.
You fall for the bullshit of " hey, we're going to bomb your homes and business here, so go there", only to corral more people in one place for the next bombing! You think they're trying to be "nice"? No, they're trying to maximize their kill zone. I mean really, what's wrong with you? You're from Denmark, there's supposed to be a decent education system there, yet you've fallen for ALL the propaganda.
Your post reads like it was written by the "Israeli Disinformation Department". The USA is complicit, and yes bud, it's genocide.

Let's see if the peace comes true, but if it doe, then even I, as a Trump "hater", being Danish his actions in Greenland is offensive, I clearly do not like him, but if it works, then no one has deserved it more.
Also, his attempt in Ukraine, although it failed, where commendable, I do appreciate that he tried, nobody else did, and as I said, I am not a fan of the man, but fair is fair, if it comes true, surely nobody would have deserved it more.

To be fair, a younger me was also upset with Obama getting the peace prize. First, because every politican should be doing that regardless and a peace prize should not be political, but mostly because it was given before he even did anything.
Now I get the logic. Tell someone they will be a great force for peace and they will strive to fit the mold. But it still cheapens the prize.31 Reply937 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Obama funded ISIS and then sent the military to participate in fighting them.
Destroyed countless homes abroad using missiles funded by countless homes in the states who could barely afford to get by
If there was a Nobel “War” prize he’d be the ideal candidate.
And Trump hasn’t done much either.
It’s all standard issue surface level politics
Wars are still raging around the world.
Trade routes are still closed
And the economy of the US and all US-dependent countries is still in the toilet01 Reply- 777 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
9 moFirst off, President Trump wasn’t even in the running for a peace prize. So it’s awesome how Maria, the winner of the prize, credited President Trump for his efforts on their shared cause.
Second, I honestly don’t think a physical award is necessary for peace. True peace is seen through the thankfulness of those affected by said peace and from what I’ve heard, President Trump is receiving major praise from both Israel and Palestine. That is true peace no physical award could ever achieve10 Reply - 344 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
9 moNot even remotely deserving. His politics and dialog are far too divisive. Scandal follows him like a dark shadow. You can't think you're deserving of the Nobel Peace Prize while actively, and consistently, repeating that you effectively hate half of your own country.
40 Reply 679 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Trump is not a man of peace. He wants the award to stoke his own ego not because he desires peace. The deal for Gaza is far from complete... its a good start but its step 2 of 100. Too early to be handing out awards. Also bombing Iran, taking out unarmed suspected smuggling boats with out due process and ordering your Military into cities does not sound peaceful to me. Trump sure is no Gandhi.
10 ReplyNo he shouldn't, based on the fact that he said those things about Greenland. A peaceprice would go to anyone that would have been President in the time of peacetalks. He happened to be in that position now. But he dosent fit for that price cause he fucked around on Greenland.

9 moA US president winning nobel peace prize is just a mockery of human intelligence. Obama waged war in Afghanistan for years. WTF?
And Trump's been casually joking about "Bibi wanting that gun and that gun and the guns are being best at murdering" after a farce ceasefire that killed 60 thousand civillisans00 Reply- 6.3K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
9 moIf Trump can end the Russian-Ukraine war, that and his Hamas-Israel peace deal should make him the number one candidate for next year's Nobel Peace Prize. But he wouldn't win it because too many people in the world view him negatively, thanks to an overly negative left-leaning media.

@katiesmuff Some of the most important world leaders in history were not good people. Consider Alexander the Great, Genghis Khan, King Charles II of England, Tsar Peter the Great.
Sometimes, it's worthwhile to separate how one feels about a person from what that person accomplishes, and that's not always easy. - 9 mo
And exactly what has trump accomplished other than widen the gap between the mega rich and the normal population while also filling his and his families coffers.
- 9 mo
@katiesmuff Trump, with the help of other Arab states, brokered the Israeli-Hamas ceasefire and the release of hostages and prisoners. And his administration has reduced the number of illegal aliens entering the country each month from thousands to almost zero.
- 8 mo
@AviatorTom,
You're joking right? Netanyahu stopped obliterating Gaza when he felt like it. Trump and Arab states had no affect whatsoever on Israeli hardliner Likud Fascists genocide of Arab civilians. They stopped after they made a few million people dead and homeless or starving. And then your TACO idiot stepped up the the microphone and immediately declared victory in his campaign to turn GAZA into his personal resort property.

00 ReplyWhat did he do to deserve it? I don’t think so. He wants to seem like a peacemaker. He just wants to build a fake image because he ruined it by the things he has done recently (with recently i mean for the past 4-5 or even almost 10 years)
