Have you noticed Instagram is the unwritten law?

For example, the Constitution is the official law and is enforced, but I’ve noticed that Instagram has become the new unwritten standard for everything. Basically, the IG lifestyle is the benchmark for how life should be. Proof? Let a girl deviate from the ‘look,’ and she will be criticized immediately. Or let a guy not reach a certain financial level, and the same happens. Sure, one can ignore the comments, but you’re still going to get them.

It’s no different from back in the segregation days. People could complain all they want about how whites were evil, but that doesn’t change the fact that discrimination against Black people was the societal norm. Similarly, a person may be unpleasant or judgmental, but the reason you’re ‘getting checked’ isn’t just about them personally - it’s about this standard that has been normalized,
