The Trump administration is repatriating two survivors of a deadly U. S. strike this week on suspected drug runners in the Caribbean Sea rather than prosecute them or hold them in military detention, President Trump announced on Saturday.

Trump didn't want them talking about the fact that they were just fishing out there, so instead he decided to send them back to their countries, probably after threatening them with death if they talked and maybe giving them some money.

I guess he couldn't get the US Navy officers, who had already violated their oaths by participating in the murders of the other people on that boat, to get even dirtier by killing these guys too.

Whether they were drug runners or not all they've got to do now is claim there were children on the boat. No one can prove it either way but there'd be a huge backlash against Trump. I wouldn't be surprised if these boats start carrying kids as protection against these strikes.

They could actually be stopped and arrested before returning to port—a process known as interdiction. The U. S. Coast Guard routinely performs interdictions along the coast where I live. However, if this were to happen, there would likely be no children or drugs involved, only fish. This would further reduce the justifications for destroying the boat and killing those on board.

Trump wants to murder people, not arrest them, and that is what he is doing.

@msc545 It turns out that they were in a submarine. Drug smugglers and the military are the only organizations that have submarines. Thr Dept of War is being completely transparent about this operation. They should be commended for keeping drugs out o the country.
