7 moGoing to war with Venezuela would be a strange choice. There's not much tactical benefit to it internationally, and it would be a very bad look with voters. The US can produce it's own oil. Any decision to go to war with over oil would require a very strong argument.
I found another story that says Trump doubts that the US will go to war. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c709rwxzx9yo

6 moLast time we went to war in an oil rich country… how did that work out?
11 Reply- 6 mo
None of the US wars since world war II have worked out very well. Starting with Korea and working onward. Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan were all absolute disasted except that each one of them made lots of money for the military and industrial complex and that is what these wars are all about. They are not about liberating countries and they're probably not even about oil, but they are about creating a market for armaments. That just doesn't stop the entire time. The war is running and probably a lot of time before and after. Helping the rich to get richer is what war is all about for the US.

6 moi don't know why you insist that he's making these decisions entirely alone. you know better than that.

agreed. at what point will we be at war with the United Nations? i think that's the bigger question.
- 6 mo
my bad. i had some acronyms mixed up. it does get quite confusing. i wanted to say nato, but venezuela isn't in nato, so nevermind.
however, the un is looking at america in regards to venezuela. that's perhaps why i messed up. i don't think the un could do anything if he started the war anyways? - 6 mo
Unfortunately, at this point, the United States pretty much controls the UN, and the UN isn't going to do a damn thing about it. They didn't do anything about Korea, and they didn't do anything about Vietnam. They didn't do anything about Afghanistan or Iraq. And if Venezuela starts up, they won't do anything about that either.
- 6 mo
that's kind of how i feel about the ukrainian war. they didn't really do much for them either.
- 6 mo
if the UN can't help the ukraine win the war, then what's the point in trying to join? stop trying to join and the war ends?
- 6 mo
I think Russia is concerned that Ukraine will try to join NATO, which is much different. NATO is basically a mutual defense treaty between the US and a bunch of other nations. If NATO were to join that, it would get the US the right to put missiles and all sorts of things right on Russia's border. Russia doesn't want this, obviously. And that's what I think the Ukraine war is all about.
- 6 mo
yes. and i completely see russia's pov. what exactly is the reason the ukraine wants to join NATO? i don't see any reason for them not to. they would be getting all of the benefits. but it's stupid to think you won't get pushback from russia. and if i was putin i'd take care of zelensky, take over the ukraine and absorb it back into russia.
- 6 mo
I'm not entirely sure, but Ukraine is all that anxious to join. NATO. Although it might give them kind of a leg up to buy even more war equipment at discount prices from us. Weapons manufacturers. Maybe. I think the dynamic is a little bit different though and I suspect it's more like the US would like to have Ukraine join NATO because that would give them a lot of territory to build missile a aircraft base really close to Russia and of course the warmongers and the US government think that would be a good perhaps until they consider the inevitable Russian reaction. If I'm not mistaken, I believe that John Bolton a very famous terrible warmonger in the US was really in favor of the whole idea of Ukraine joining NATO since it would have also gotten him the war he keeps looking for. I might be wrong about all this too.
- 6 mo
i do think it's all about the war machine. and that's really eye opening if you think about it like this.
the US pushes for the Ukraine to join NATO knowing it will start a war.
the war starts.
the US abandons the Ukraine for Israel's genocide.
no real news reported on the Ukraine since Oct. 7th, 2023 - 6 mo
did you read that russia will come to venezuela's aid if the us starts a war?

7 moWhy weren’t you bothered by Obama’s and Biden’s wars for oil?
06 Reply- 6 mo
I’m not lying. I’m pointing out your ridiculous hypocrisy. Just admit that you’re only mad because you don’t like Drumpf. Literally everything you whine about, your democrat cult leaders did long before Drumpf came along. He has done nothing that democrats didn’t do before. I’ve been on this platform long enough to remember you NOT crying about Obama deporting more illegal immigrants than ANY president in history. I don’t remember you crying about Clinton signing the Immigration Reform Act into law so that illegals could be deported WITHOUT a judicial hearing. I don’t remember you complaining that Obama used that same law to deport illegals expeditiously. I don’t remember you complaining about Obama campaigning on bringing troops home and then sending more troops into active conflicts once he took office. I don’t remember you complaining about Biden’s record for sexually harassing women and girls, and molesting his own daughter. An account verified by Ashley in a court of law. I don’t remember you being mad about Biden engaging in more foreign conflicts, primarily for access to petroleum.
You’re the hypocrite and liar, not me. Just admit that you only oppose Drumpf because the mainstream media told you to and that you loved all the same policies and practices when democrats were doing it. - 6 mo
Well I can tell you that it doesn't help that Trump is a mentally ill criminal who screams and yells and brags about how wonderful he is to all of us and by doing so doesn't endear himself at all. This is possibly the most dislikable man who has ever been president. He's also incredibly dangerous because he doesn't really care about our laws or traditions or ideals and instead only cares for himself. Obama and Biden may not have been perfect, but they were a hell of a lot preferable to the convicted felon who is mentally ill and offensive as hell.
- 6 mo
Every conflict in the middle east has been over oil. Just because your cult leaders tell you it’s about “democracy”, that doesn’t make it true. You know that too. Because you have said as much about those conflicts when republicans were at the helm. So, again, i’m not the one lying and being hypocritical.
Drumpf being unlikable to you is not reason to perpetuate lies about his policies and practices. Let alone reason to deny that the party you support unconditionally is guilty of every single offense that Drumpf is. You should take some time to get honest with yourself about that. You’re clearly lying to yourself as much as you’re lying to everyone else.

How exactly did Biden cripple domestic oil production, when every statistic shows one production record after another?
www.eia.gov/.../LeafHandler.ashx - 6 mo
@DryGermanGuy He cancelled oil leases on federal land, he cancelled the Keystone pipeline are two examples.. you could find more if you wanted to. Gas didn;t go over 5 bucks a gallon by itself.
- 6 mo
None of these projects would have had any impact on the oil market for ten+ years, obviously. Also the keystone pipeline was to transport CNG, not oil. And for the thousandth time, the inflation peak was a global phenomenon, we also had it with German products. You really need to learn a few lessons about macroeconomic contexts.
- 6 mo
@DryGermanGuy What a coincidence that gas prices shot up right after Biden started his attack on fossil fuel industries. All of a sudden nobody wanted in invest in new wells becuse nobody knew what Biden would do next. Price of gas was over 5 bucks a gallon. It went down a little at the end but for along time a fillup was over a hundred bucks. The US was energy independent when biden moved into the White House. It is not anymore.
- 6 mo
Again, do you have trouble or an animosity against reading the graphs? Under Biden the domestic oil production reached new records practically every quarter or so!!! 🤦♂️

(Hmm Venezuela has how much oil? Okay okay… Well fuck)
01 Reply- 6 mo
No, he's doing it to protect his sorry ass because if there is a war on, Americans tend to vote for the president in office at that time. And he knows he's on the ropes in terms of re-election or in terms of just being retained, since he can't actually technically get re-elected.
