The president of Nigeria, Obonjo, has said that Trump is now pretending to be very "concerned" about Africa and the killings of some Christians there. He has said it is not only Christians that are being killed--but Muslims as well. He wants Trump to stop pretending that he cares about those Christians--and concentrate on his own country, which has been in a government shutdown. Obonjo is very well aware that Trump is crazy, only eyeing Nigeria for its' oil (just as he is in Venezuela) and has called Africa a "shit hole country" (Trump called the entire continent using these words, not knowing Africa is comprised of more than one country). Donald Trump "should focus--focus on helping his own country. It is that simple."

He is pissed off--and is understandable so.

My bad--that name, Obounjo" is a name given to Olusegun Obasanjo, a former president of Nigeria. The person reporting what Trump is doing-- a person from the UK, donned the name and I have no idea why. Maybe they were making fun of Olusegun Obasanjo as well.

Africa could turn into a war zone as China is deeply entrenched. I met Nigerians in China... trying to drum up business. Chinese are all over Africa. This may also be a play against China.

Obonjo, is a British comedian whose stage persona is a satirical African dictator. He is not the real President of Nigeria. The actual President of Nigeria is Bola Tinubu, who assumed office on May 29, 2023.

Thank you for the correction. The person reporting this had his name spelled wrong and facts wrong. Yes, I should be more careful. He WAS a former president of Nigeria from 1999 to 2007, and he is presidentially a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) since 2018.

I don't think you are picking on me. I do think that some of your reasoning is a little off --as in you are not realistic sometimes, and you assume a lot. We can't all reason with MAGA, as in my last question. But we all have our faults--as I do with this instance.

I don’t believe it’s unrealistic to bring some republicans to the left. Probably not hardcore maga folks. They may be not worth focusing on for now. It’s better to focus on people like my mom and my dad who are just older conservatives but not maga extremists. They are totally coming around as well as a few friends. I’m happy about that. You assumed or made a comment that I was being “snarky” when you assumed I was saying people who are suffering now and sorry they voted for Trump deserve what has happened to them. That was shown in a former question showing a video, “ Is this how maga will end up?” I mentioned I was not the author of that video, but I agreed that losing everything is not what people voted for.
What I am saying is— you assumed I am happy that people are suffering. I am not. But that is who they voted for— and they should have learned from first time Trump was in office, that he is only interested in helping himself.

I do believe saying this is who you voted for is divisive and shuts people down from listening. I've seen it happen on both sides in person. We can disagree of course and that's fair.

But The "I don't think you mean it to be" is what I'd like to focus on. I don't think this is your fault for interpreting it the way you have. I should reword things or edit before hitting submit.

When I said I don't think you meant it to be I meant that I felt your comment was snarky not you as a person. I don't think you want anyone to suffer. That's something you're assuming. I wasn't assuming that at all.
