Why do I think this? Because Donald Trump once wrote a social media post telling other countries to “go get your own oil.”

Donald Trump once referred to the Strait of Hormuz as the "Strait of Trump.”

Control over Iran's oil was always primary goal. Control means who can obtain this oil and who can't. Isolating China from resources supply is US long term goal.
Venezuela was bought but this operation was prepared since years. In Iran Israel tried since decade to destabilize Iran's regime. But Iran eliminated all of Israel controlled opposition. US tried to use this opportunity for regime change but failed. Bombing civilians strengthened only Iran's regime. NATO, Japan, Australia didn't want participate. Now Trump needs a solution, he tries with honesty and persuasion. While some everyone make deals with Iran and their ships can pass through Hormuz Strait.
It's still not completely lost for Trump but his options get limited with every move he makes. Maybe successfully ground Invasion of Iran would change something but 'human resource' costs will be high for US population. It would be exact same mistake Putin did in Ukraine.

As for killing 30,000 civilians, how about offering some proof of that? By the way, the U. S. has killed far more than 30,000 civilians, so I think it's kind of equivalent. It's in a very perverse way, and yeah, they bombed Israel. Also, Israel bombed them, and their neighbors bombed them. I think you listen to too much government propaganda here in the U. S.

Well, the thing is that Iran's oil is worth money, and Donald Trump is more interested in things worth money than he is in anything else. After all, dead people just need to be disposed of, and that actually costs money. It doesn't make money. As far as Trump is concerned, anything that doesn't make him money is a waste of his time.

It would be a cold day in hell before any Iranian citizen ever got a dime from any of that oil. The same thing will happen to that oil that happened to the oil from Venezuela. It will be sold, and the proceeds will go into a bank account controlled by Donald Trump. This is despite the fact that he seized the oil from Venezuela using US troops and US equipment that was paid for by US taxpayers. The same thing will happen in Iran if we allow it.

Well, it's not just my opinion that Trump took all the oil from Venezuela, sold it, and put the money in his bank account in Qatar. That is well documented. As for what is likely to happen in Iran, that is, in fact, my opinion, but it's a considered opinion. The consideration is based on what I know of Trump and what I know of what he did in Venezuela and what he didn't do there.
If you think something different is likely to happen, then by all means post that here and support it with some facts if you're able to do that.
