I’m personally very unconvinced at the claims trumps attempting to start a full blown war though, I definitely think Netanyahu probably out for blood but so far the US has only gone after military bases in Iran that are attempting to build nuclear weapons so I think it’s definitely not just an American interest but a global interest to stop such a thing from happening.
To preface this, you dont require someone to try start WW3 for it to start. WW1 was started when pretty much everyone wanted to avoid it. A more important question in my eyes is if Trump is competent enough to recognize the danger and work around it instead of blindly stumbling forward.
Also, do I think there is a risk for WW3 to start based on Israel and Iran? Not really. Unless USA goes full Hitler for whatever reason and forces the rest of NATO to gang up against USA then I dont see what the other side of this supposed world war would be. We have one side, USA+NATO, but who is supposed to back up Iran? Russia? No. China? Not interested in getting involved. So at most this will be a regional conflict against smaller nations with maybe USA stepping in on one side. Not good, but also not apocalyptic.
As for the threat of nukes. I personally dont believe that Iran was developing nukes in the first place. Why? Because if they were, then they would have finished one years ago. They are not hard to make, contrary to popular belief. Expert and intelligence assessments before this agreed that Iran did not intend to make nukes to comply with international pressure and at most kept the components required to make nukes on stand-by in case they were ever threatened so they could quickly slap one together and defend themselves.
So if Iran did not have nukes, why is Israel and USA doing this? Personally I am open to the idea that Israel is ran by inhuman monsters looking for death and conquest. There is also an argument to be made for Benjamin Netanyahu being so unpopular that his abuse of power and stay in office can't be maintained without a constant state of war. And USA is just along for the ride, willingly or not.
But that brings up a problem. If Iran did not develop a nuke previously because of international pressure but made sure to keep what they needed at hand "just in case", then will they make one now? In my opinion... yes. I could see them deciding that the only way to be safe from outside attack is to finally develop their nuke and that in months to at most 2-3 years they will be ready to reveal their new nukes.
As far as USA's strike on Irans nuclear capability? The consensus right now is that it did basically nothing.
Of course, it did nothing as per usual. If the left did not do it and someone else did, then it did not need to be done. Why was Iran spending hundreds of billions of dollars on enrichment tools, and what was 300 to 400 feet below the surface? OH! It was the bakery baking Pita bread. @onedarkcloud Fordow Uranium Enrichment Plant was built in 2006, Obama's nuclear agreement with Iran was in 2015, Trump broke that treaty in 2018. It would take Iran (or any country with access to Uranium) at most a few years to build a nuclear bomb from start to finish. Iran has had 7 years to build a nuke since Trump burned the previous agreement.
The only obvious reason as to why they do not have a nuke today is personal choice. They obviously have the equipment and resources not to mention the personnel. Iran decided not to build a nuke, plain and simple. According to the intelligence networks of multiple countries it appears that Iran believed that developing a nuke would cause them to become attacked so they instead gathered the pieces to make a nuke but did not "finish" it so in the event they would need a nuke then they were most of the way there already.
@onedarkcloud Under this assumption they most likely already have uranium purified to around 60% or more which can be turned into a nuke by itself. Also it means that destroying Fordow would not prevent them from gaining weapons grade uranium. Furthermore, said weapons grade uranium had already been moved away from Fordow according to intelligence agencies from multiple countries.
As for the strike itself, what we know of the bombs that were used then the target was out of reach for the bombs. Dropping more than one does not necessarily mean that you will get further down. This is further reinforced by the fact that Israel apparently felt that the base was not destroyed after USA bombed it so Israel bombed it themselves afterwards.
Then we have the leaked intelligence report from USA that said that the attack failed, the briefing to Congress that said it failed and multiple countries that said that the attack failed.
All of this is conclusions made with the least amount of assumptions made and for the most part only looking at the facts. I can also make the prediction that Iran is going to make a nuke soon based on the fact that their capabilities appears not to have been inhibited and the reasons against them pursuing nukes probably dont exist anymore since they are already under attack.

Well first of all there was a security leak that revealed a report saying that the US intellgience service did not believe the strike had worked. Which makes:
1: The US intelligence agancy
Then we have the fact that Israel followed up USA's bombing of the nuclear site with their own bombs. Because apparently they did not feel like USA had done enough damage. That makes Israel the 2nd.
2: Israel
Then we have the various experts who both before and after USA bombed the site pointed out that it was very unlikely to work because the bombs which USA dropped was not even close to being rated for destroying a target as deep underground as this. That makes 3.
3: Independent experts.
And then obviously we have the Iranians who would say USA failed regardless but whatever.
In other words, we dont actually have any reasons to believe the strikes worked outside of "big bomb must have worked because big bomb is big". Truly the height of rational thinking there. And on the other side we have every piece of evidence that has come out since which indicates that the strikes were failures.

@onedarkcloud This started before Trump dropped the bomb. Again, we knew an attack like this would not work. And I use the word "know" intentionally because unlike you, I dont work on personal belief.
1) Dropping the ordinance he sent to Iran wasn't a declaration of war - it was a retaliatory strike after the US Embassy in Israel was hit by Iranian missiles.
2) In the last 20 years the compromises made by the US for the sake of "peace" have been like a lion letting the cub fight it's father. All Trump did was remind Iran it's a really bad idea to taunt a sleeping lion. It still has claws and teeth.
3) If he wanted to start a third war he could do it simply by sending troops to Ukraine. That would instantly make Russia, China and the NATO team declare war. Lobbing a few bombs at Iran isn't going to provoke anyone of serious military strength.
No. I'm sure he thinks he can stop their nuke program, but it doesn't look like that's happening. It appears they moved the equipment inside that mountain to elsewhere and there is no way to find out precisely where, unless there are boots on the ground which Trump says he won't do.
There might be operatives who can get there, but at this point in time, we do not know this.
What IS true is that even IF everything was destroyed as Trump hopes, pundits say this would only slow their program 2 to 3 years. They could get support from allies elsewhere and could be up and running again.
This appears to be a task that is both laborious and futile and should be called Sisyphean. Sisyphus was punished by the gods to push a rock up a mountain and upon reaching the top, would be forced to start the same task from the bottom of the mountain, for eternity.
This war started few years ago and he jumped in. US was a supporter and material supplier but now is US an active combatant and target. Now the situation is that Iran can be used as proxy opponent by China directly against US forces while US can't attack China without appearing as the aggressor. Analyst in Pentagon and Military Industrial Complex will probably destroy Trump for that stupid move, just for his personal desire to satisfy pro Israel lobby in US. Last two weeks just showed how divided US elites are in matter of supporting Israel.
The US is a military superpower, Irans military is not strong enough to fight us - they couldn’t even directly attack the US if they try because their tech is terribly outdated compared to ours.
The same can be said for china, the only way for those people to touch the US is by attacking our country through the inside. How is the US an active combatant when we haven’t even deployed any troops? So the US should just allow Iran to continue building a nuke?
America is just trying to prevent things from escalating. But them interfering might escalate things. There's no winning in this scenario. I think Trump is making the right choice of destroying the nuclear facilities in Iran. But then the question is, why is it only Iran's nuclear facilities that are being targeted? I can see how that would be seen as unfair treatment and cause more hatred from Iran.
I feel like things are only going to escalate at this point. I think world war 3 is inevitable. Whether it happens now or 10 years from now has yet to be seen. But with AI developments, and new technologies, the results from the next world war will be catastrophic.

Trump does have a propensity to over exaggerate sometimes so from what I’ve read we haven’t actually destroyed any nuclear facilities, their nuclear facilities are located a bit deeper so what we targeted was more so above ground damage. We do have the military capabilities to destroy them though so the attacks were probably more symbolic if anything so for now I think it’s at least good it seems his aims are more towards diplomatic matters.
I also dont think it’s unfair Iran’s being targeted, they’re not a peaceful nation. They oppress their people and fund terrorist groups that attack civilians, imagine what they’d do if they had nuclear power?

It's why he's done the very German thing of using Jews as human shields to compensate. This trick works against Arabs and Russians, but not the Chinese. So Trump is all out of ideas on how to deal with the Chinese as he has no frame of reference.
Add to the fact the Russians, Chinese and Iranians have better weapons as well. So Trump and Israel know it's all over if they work together. They are just trying to figure out a way to demonise the Chinese, is all.

Starting a war that could lead to the death of thousands should be the absolute last resort, using debilitating force would practically ensure a full scale war. Would you really rather want an all out war or to at least try to see if we could form a treaty for a ceasefire and halt to any of their nuclear ambitions?
In case you haven't been paying attention to talks and events that unfolded in history, Iran's nuclear ambitions cannot be thwarted by negotiations of any kind.
They true purpose of their nuclear ambitions is to use that capability on Isreal and the USA.
