They will level Iranian infrastructure, military assests, industry back to the stone age from the air. The Iranians won't be able to launch as many rockets or attack ships in the gulf because they won't be able to produce as many or fund and arm terror organisations in the middle east.

No. The war is just about really doing what the US military did to the Iraqi military in the gulf war, yes there was an invasion to retake kuwait but the us army basically walked into Kuwait with the airforce and navy having destroyed the iraqi military from the air. 12 years later in the 2003 invasion of Iraq, the iraqis still hadn't recovered. The US military is going to flatten the country of anything of value until they run out of targets.
Thats railways, roads, bridges, docks, factories, airfields, planes, tanks, oil refineries, ships, dammes, oil fields, radar stations, power plants, tv/radio transmitters, cell towers

Perhaps the real question is, will the people who actually have to carry it out, that is, the people who launch the missile or the people who fly the bomber, actually go along with this? Or will they finally have the courage to refuse an illegal order, like they were advised to do by three or four senators and the Uniform Code of Military Justice?

I think they would fire it but I don't know the military processes. Whose to say if it is illegal? Soldiers do what they are told. All someone has to do is put a nuke on a tomahawk and tell the command room a target and fire it. Division of knowledge. if one refused, then there's a few more behind them.

Using a nuclear weapon when no one's used one on you to begin with is clearly pretty criminal. But hell, these are the same service members or members of the same service that killed unarmed people in small boats because they were told to. I think they'll fire it too.

It take a strong justification to issue use... like a large pool of missiles pointed at us, "so it was most efficient way to liquidate them". It would be justified.
