1.9K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Trump has been working to STOP the damn wars, just as he said for the last 4 years. Note that there were no new wars under Trump - the first time in decades that there was a US presidency with no new wars. He actually brokered 6 different peace treaties during his first term.
Wake up! This fear-mongering isn't going to work. "Sweet old man" Biden got us involved in 2 wars in his term, because no one had any fear that he'd stop them. Note that Putin didn't dare attack Ukraine with Trump in the White House - Trump told him straight up what would happen if he did. But Putin had zero fear of Biden.
Yes, Ukraine is going to lose some territory. That sucks, but it's better than years more war, hundreds of thousands more deaths, and the possibility of a nuclear exchange.
What Trump is doing is called LEVERAGE. That's using a threat that could be backed up in order to get countries to do what we want them to do - such as getting Mexico to work to prevent people crossing the border - something they should have already been doing.
For most things, Trump doesn't need to use violence. Instead, he can put pressure on governments through their own people, who see Trump cleaning up the US government and think they'd like to see the same thing happen in their own countries. Most people don't really WANT to be paying 60% in taxes and getting little in return, for example.
If you remember, there hadn't been a death in Afghanistan during the last year of Trump's presidency, as he was trying to wind down THAT war that he inherited, but then Biden came in and made a complete mess of the withdrawal. Remember THAT, anyone? Why the Taliban has tanks, armored trucks, and helicopters, plus tons of weapons and ammo? That was because Biden's admin couldn't be bothered to make or execute a real plan, and they certainly weren't going to use Trump's.
Put up Biden's - or Obama's - track record against Trump's, and Trump wins by miles. But if you only listened to MSNBC or CNN, you wouldn't know that, because they'd certainly never tell you about it. It goes against their narrative.

Trump is trying to end a war that is killing thousands of people every day. Oh, the horror.
And he's found insane amounts of fraud and theft of taxpayer money - including theft and fraud of Social Security - and ended it so that the money will be there for the people who have legitimately earned it.
The people in the government who are crying about this are the ones losing their "free money" and the power that comes with it. How is it that people aren't upset about having their tax money stolen on a massive scale? And why complain that the theft has been stopped, and your money protected? - 1 y
@MrOracle Unfortunately leftist voters in this country are fine with turning a blind eye to our tax dollars being misappropriated (let's be serious: stolen) by a bloated intrusive albatross government, as long as those tax dollars that are being stolen from us are funding the advancement of socialism (here and abroad) via back channels.

"Note that Putin didn't dare attack Ukraine with Trump in the White House - Trump told him straight up what would happen if he did. But Putin had zero fear of Biden."
Oh for God's sake, you people really do think you're that important. No Russian president has ever given a rat's rear end about anything that any US president has said, or promised to do. - 1 y
He no doubt had his reasons, and we don't know what those reasons are, or were. You can't just lazily assume that it could only have been because a certain Donald Trump was the president of a nation half a world away. I seriously doubt Putin even took that fact into consideration. He's not the type of person who is easily intimidated you know.
Time works against EVERYONE! We're all getting older, we're all running out of time. - 1 y
He wasn't. The entire lead up to the war he was pushing anti Ukrainian propaganda. Even if you are a dictator, you can't exactly do whatever you want. You need the people to not be wholly against you. The propaganda campaign was enough to convince enough Russians that while the invasion might not be legal, it was morally right.
- 1 y
Putin has done all of his invading and annexation during times when Trump wasn't in office (Georgia, Bush, 2008; Crimea, Obama, 2014; greater Ukraine, Biden, 2022). I love how leftists conveniently ignore these facts.

@NYCQuestions1976 And people like you see patterns where none exist. I guess you're not familiar with the word "coincidence".
- 1 y
@Pet68 One occurrence can be a coincidence. Maybe two occurrences can possibly be a coincidence. Three occurrences? That's NOT a coincidence. Don't try to explain away actual factual reality with your nonsensical gaslighting gibberish.
- 1 y
@NYCQuestions1976 Gaslighting gibberish? That's pure projection on your part.
- 1 y
@Pet68 No, it's my direct, concise, and correct response to your improper application of the word "coincidence", and your deliberate attempt at evading reality.

1 yI think the US military and intelligence community will take down tRump and the Oligarchs in a bloody coup before they allow WWIII. Either way the USA as a country ends.
But realize, the portion of the MAGA base that is deranged Evangelical Christians actually wants to end the world so they can bring on their fictional "End Times" and cause Gay Baby Jesus to return and judge all the "Evil" people while taking all the mentally ill White Christians to "Heaven" to live a perfect live forever. And a lot of those nutcases were involved in creating the Project 2025 script the moronic tRump is now blindly following.

1 yI'm still watching how things unfold. I'm judging him to see if he will do what he says. I don't think that included Musk, but he is right about one thing, the government bureaucracy is too big. I also don't think he would something unless there was money in it for him. Same goes for Must. They smell money, and lots of it.

1 yTrump is now blaming. ukraine fir starting the war with Russia and is demanding 50% of its resources. Combine that with military threats he's making towards Denmark, and Canada and i think we will see Russia and the USA joining forces to carve up Europe and the Middle east between them.

Trump knows and that's why he seeks desperately for another proxy conflict preferably in Asia. Where some poor fool fights with US support against china. However after Ukraine no one will be willing to sacrifice their productive human capital for empty promises.

But I think he will be less likely than Dubya, O'Bomber or Biden to start a world war.

@supercutebutt Putin has said that if Trump was president he never would have invaded Ukraine. After 4 years he is finally willing to make a peace settlement. He just laughed at Biden.

There will be repercussions.
Good luck! :) - 1 y
@supercutebutt what did I say that was not true? As soon as Biden bungled the withdrawal in Afghanistan it was like ringing the dinner bell for dictators. If Trump was the president it never would have happened.
- 1 y
Give me a break. Trump negotiated that withdrawal, you maniac.
You are in a cult. Your entire life has been reduced to sucking the cock of a vile sociopath. - 1 y
@supercutebutt Trump was navigating a withdrawal based on set milestones. It was nowhere near ready to proceed. Biden and Milley just woke up one day and decided that would get out of Afghanistan and in a spectacular failure 13 American soldiers lost their lives. Good Job!
- 1 y
Lies. Trump scheduled the withdrawal to happen months earlier than what happened. Lunkhead would have gotten way more people killed. He bungled the pandemic, he started an insurrection, and he is currently fucking up our economy, all while sucking Putin's balls. You like Trump because he is a hateful bigot like your daddy. Just be honest.
