Now there is a war between Russia and Ukraine!

A 3rd World War is possible. These are the most likely scenarios (not in any particular order):

1. Russia gets emboldened by no international resistance to the invasion of Ukraine (Let's be real, economic sanctions do not mean shit to Russia). Ukraine itself will not spark WW3, but Russia would not stop there. Russia would then invade neighboring nations to Ukraine, most of whom ARE NATO members. Once one of them is invaded, then WW3 starts. When one NATO nation is attacked, ALL NATO nations have to fight. Due to treaties already in existence, the U. S. and most of Europe legally have to pitch in and not even Congress could put the breaks on combat. If the U. S. DID back out of their word to back up other NATO nations, we instantly and irreparably lose international standing and credibility. That would lead to economic hardship worse than the great depression. China and North Korea would team up with Russia because their governments run similar to Russia's, they share common reasons to want to knock Europe and the U. S. down a few pegs and because Russia and China already have alliances set up.

2. Even if Russia does magically stop after invading Ukraine, China would then start WW3 via Taiwan. They would view Western inaction on Ukraine as weakness and proceed to invade Taiwan. That would drag the U. S. into war because the U. S. has military and economic reasons for keeping a strong military presence in the pacific. Allowing China to gain control of Taiwan would give China a very advantageous military position. Also, the U. S. is allied with many Asian countries and would lose those allies if they did not respond to China's aggression. Losing those allies essentially shuts the U. S. out of Asia.

3. This is worst case scenario. Russia could invade Ukraine and China could invade Taiwan at the same time. This is not very likely right now. China seems more than content to let Russia move first. However, it is possible. Historically, China is better than Russia at making major moves without giving the World any indication of those movement until the moment they are ready to attack. If this happened, then literally 3 continents would be at war simultaneously (U. S. for North America, NATO for Europe and Asian allies in Asia). If BOTH Asia AND NATO fight at the same time, the U. S. would be pretty screwed because we would literally need EVERY military asset (short of nukes) we have just to have the man power and capabilities to fight a war on 2 fronts. This would tax our military capabilities to their limits (even with the help of allies), leave us very few troops to defend our homeland and have an unpredictable effect on our economy.

fairly simple.
The recognition of two independent states within Ukraine, is a doorway to send troops inside the borders of Ukraine.

The west isn't gonna have Ukraine do nothing about it, they've spent billions arming them, making their military one of the largest... so in a gesture to show desire of joining the NATO they will fire at Russians in these territories, amidst the clashes if the NATO sees fit, or see Ukraine in danger they will include it, and send forces to liberate the newly declared Republics. booom! And there you have it!

They have been holding joint exercises.

Additionally, the Russians have all their major surface fleet either at sea or recently on exercises.

Something that has never really been done before.

I said no at the start of the conflict. Because i know the United States would not intervene militarily. But Putin has lost his entire mind.

So all bets are off.

He could strike us first. He could launch nuclear weapons towards Kyiv. Because two things are will definitely continue to happen. We will continue to give Ukrainians weapons. And Ukrainians will not back down.

And when a bully gets punched in the mouth, he gets desperate.

You guys know the status, right? After four days, the Russian army has not taken one single major obstacle. They actually took an airport near Kiev. Only to have the Ukrainians take it right back.

Ukraine will fight Putin forever if it has to. And we must stand with them.

The main reason tensions may appear so high is because of the mass-overreaction of the NATO alliance and especially the USA and the UK. The USA is purposely stirring things up for a spicy war. On top of all of this, Russia has actually been seen taking equipment away from the Ukrainian borders yet the Americans still claim that tensions are rising at that Putin has 'given orders to invade' already. The Americans are supposed to play the peacekeepers but failed at their job, it is time for a better world superpower since clearly the Americans are failing at it.

Russia may be an aggressive country but I don't think Putin would be the type to start a war with the whole world since it would shatter Russia and he knows if Russia comes out victorious there will be no end to the war as people will fight for independence like they did during the British Empire and the Soviet Union Era. The chance of war is still high but I personally can't see it happening.

Nope, there is zero possibility of direct conflict between NATO and Russia, or any other two major powers. That's just not the way things work any more - these days, all you get are proxy wars (we came close in Kosovo in '99, but the British general refused to follow the order to attack). If Russia invade, the US might well try to help Ukraine by supplying them with weapons, logistical support, intelligence, etc, but they wouldn't directly intervene.

Russia is incompetent. Credible reports show Ukraine is winning the war so far. Russian casualties are going to be incredible, given U. S., germany, france, and the U. K are all giving our best military tech to the Ukraine military.

Ukraine just activated ALL MALES above the age of 18 and below 60 to the military by executive order. They are handing out AK-47's and missiles to civilians to bolster their defenses. Russia has already suffered 8500 casualties in teh war.

I think it will. The west has destabilized the western economy was fucked by the COVID politics so much, that only a war can help sweep those crimes against humanity under the rug. That's why the UN is now violating the second world war peace contradicts until Russia finally does something... And will still make Russia the evil guy in their propaganda.

Its not Russia and Ukraine that bothers me, U'd be more worried about China and Taiwan.
China has a tendency to act when they think they are not being watched, given that Taiwan has said many times that it will never submit to rule from mainland China any conflict that starts could escalate to a nuclear exchange pretty rapidly.
