It's possible, but this kind of talk always happens when there's an incident.

At the point a world war would be unimaginably devastating. Russia, and/or China would have to step in, to get things to that point, and for things to get to that level, they would need a better excuse that what they have.

They will yell at each other, and call each other down, and it won't be mere "virtue signalling".

I'm not saying it's impossible. I'm saying that USA, Russia, and China aren't foolish enough to bring on the apocalypse over an Iranian General.
I imagine that it would take an invasion of Iran to provoke Russia, or China into attacking.

I have to add, I'm not really sure if it would involve China. I don't know why I have that idea in my head. As for Russia, I think that they're allies with Iran, or maybe they're just buddies, or maybe about ready to put it's foot down.

It would require another great depression to happen first, a possible future "Greater" Depression and then it's one sparking event away from full scale war. In WW1 the sparking event was an assassination, in WW2 it was an invasion, so it would be similar to those events and incidents. But it would be in that order, the first thing that happens would be at a point of no return.

History repeats itself and it is inevitable. By the time it finally becomes a reality, no one would be absolutely ready for it nor would they see it coming.

Won't ever happen. Why? Nuclear power. You can have the bigger army so big it can infiltrate the country in days. But once you lose a war there is nothing to stop the losing side from launching a nuke one is enough to destroy russia or the us or even australia. You can't stop a nuke that's why chernobyl is still around. Even if you shot down a nuke the radiation will land and spread from animals migrating the wind blowing it towards cities (chernobyl reached as far as Germany the other end of the planet) if it lands in the sea serious trouble. If you win the war you'll both lose the nuclear war. Every country knows this and it's why a world war will never happen the desire to live outweighs money.

World war 3 will come when Iraq developes a nuclear weapon and uses it. That will be within 3 years. USA will respond with a deluge of weapons that will wipe out millions of muslims. Nuclear fallout will circle the earth and get in drinking water. When that happens it's lights out. Israel will attack Palestine and even more madness will follow.
There's no escape. Bomb shelters is not really a life. There will be NO gas No food No escape. Earth will be contaminated for a million years and nothing will survive but the Cockroaches.
Whats sad is the reason for all this madness is RELIGION. The very thing that should bring peace does the opposite. Allah or Jesus or Buddah or whomever is the center of religion in a country will destroy it.

I expect the next world war to be about starvation and controlling rapidly shrinking supplies of food and water due to climate change. Poor countries will go ti war when the rich ones strip them of their food. Hunger transcends politics.

At are age no one want to go to a real war, a real world war 3 will be a nuke war, and that is not WW3 that is the last war
At this time no one want to do it, there too many calls from WW2, and too much connection between everyone

World War? No. It isn't that grand a scale. Unless there's at least 40% of the planet involved, I don't see how it could be considered a world War. I also don't believe most places like the middle East have the firepower or tactical strength to reasonably wage war without losing their entire home. It would be a one sided massacre.

I'm assuming your referring to what trump did/said. And no, Iran doesn't really have enough pull with other nations to do that. There might be a war or some kind from it but not a world war.

We likely won't see a world war tell some of the bigger nations start to run out of resources, and fight over them.

No I don't think so. Most people don't actually care enough to support war anymore.

Eventually we'll get to a point where older leaders will declare wars and order troops and ask for new recruits and the young people will just respond "yeah right. Go ask somebody else -- nobody wants that."

If the people refuse to fight then there's no war. And with social media people of all countries can be in agreement against world leaders in refusing to fight.

Wars inevitably break out. We have been blessed to live in one of the longest eras of peace in human history. The next one could be one over land resources or it could a revolution due to dissatisfaction with the corrupt and broken system. There are so many possibilities.

I doubt it. Lots of people who ask that question conflate a world War with a war between two nations. A world War would need to include several more nations. The reason world War 2 was a world War, Japan. Russia, most of Europe, and great Britain were involved before the US got involved.

Practically the same thing with world War 1..

I think we’ll have individual, sporadic fights with countries. Terrorist attacks will escalate as well as cyber war with China and Russia. Nope. People don't realize that all those countries barking like dogs at each other won't don't anything because it's not their interest.
China wouldn't do anything against the US because they're a huge commercial partner. Same with Russia. And without those 3, there is no world war.
