If the democrats were even half as committed to making the USA a better place for the working class as they are to tearing down Drumpf and everyone who supports him, this country would be in amazing shape! We would truly be the greatest nation on Earth again, if we ever really were.
Who knows where we’d be. I ask a similar question quite often. If both major parties spent less time, energy and money on trying to smear the opposition, and more cleaning up their own side of the aisle, where would we be as a nation? Both parties have a lot of room for improvement. Only idiots and jack*sses would deny that simple fact. If they focused on their own parties, we could have too many great candidates to choose from and do away with this “lesser of two evils” BS.
We seem to have an insurmountable lead in our race to the bottom.

It still would have occurred because the Republicans insist on cutting vital subsidies of food and medical care for the poorest, many living in Republican-controlled states. The wealthy blue cities can get by just fine without federal subsidies. In the poor red states people will go hungry, and die from lack of medical attention.

The republicans are the cause of the shutdown because they don’t want to pay medicare, a health insurance used by millions of disabled and elderly americans who have no choice BUT to use medicare because once you qualify, you cannot apply for any private insurance. I don't know about you, but I’d rather have insurance than not, considering I still get charged thousands of dollars per procedure even with insurance.
