You would think that the majority of Americans started to pay attention to such "minor details" after all the misinformation and mishandling during the Covid19 crisis, which lead to a lower and still decreasing life expectancy. The prediction models for the additional yet preventable deaths coming from millions of people losing their former health coverage are already getting published. Will this widening life expectancy delta in comparison with other post-industrial nations be a wake-up call? Probably not.

When they and their children find themselves with no medical coverage whatsoever--they will be wishing they knew what happened--and they will of course blame it all on Biden and the Democrats.

As far as I know I will not lose my Healthcare. My premiums are sort of expensive but I have a so called Cadillac plan because my wife is a cancer survivor. We want ro be able to go to any hospital and see any doctor. I guess you get what you pay for.

I am sorry your wife is a cancer survivor. However, according to this plan, your "sort of expensive" premiums will go up at least twice as much, no matter you have the "Cadillac plan". Some will go up 3 times as much, to the point where folks will no longer be able to have a plan at all.

My premiums do not depend on a government subsidy to pay most of it. The premiums will go up at the rate that they have been going up for the last 20 years.

The ones who forced those Federal workers to work without pay are the Republicans who introduced this bill to have people's health premiums go up three times as much. The Democrats didn't want that. Do you understand the gist of it?

We don't have that, unless you were grandfathered as I was, into a health plan that makes you pay very little for your plans. My former job does that for people worked over 25 years in their profession. My friend, who has worked many years in NY and then came into our school district in NJ has worked for 20 years in total, and she has major back problems. So she couldn't retire sooner although she had the age to--and later on she realized she could afford to somehow. She does not get free healthcare now but pays a lot just for her health insurance. I was very lucky.

Oh, then your prescription plan wasn't;t part of it. I hope hospitalization is. Meds can really be very expensive. Even with a prescription plan, I was made to pay $38.00 for a tiny bottle of eyedrops that fight bacteria in the eye. My eyes are sensitive to anything that gets in them, and I get tiny bumps on the lids as a result if bacteria is present (from dirt, dust, anything dirty that touches the eye).
Try and stay healthy and you won't need to use meds that are prescribed.

I'm not in the UK, I said EU. I'm not a citizen of any country in the EU. I left the United States and I'm here on a visa. I have to pay for my own insurance until I'm a tax resident. When I pay into the tax system, I can apply for that country's health care system. Your friends in the Netherlands & Spain, and every other country in the EU, get health care as part of their tax system.
