Kudos to Goldman Sachs for finally saying the quiet part out loud. Welcome to Extreme Capitalism, American style.

• Cures are bad for business. They eliminate future revenue streams. Never ever cure the problem. That's just stupid!
• What's good for business is repeat sales for life. Treat the symptoms. Keep the customer coming back every day for a lifetime.
• Think statin drugs for cholesterol, blood pressure drugs, dick pills, insulin, weight loss drugs, etc.
• Think fast food, processed foods, sugar, salt, and fats.
• Think keeping the rabble glued to a couch with TV, internet, and video games.

Did anyone not know these are exactly the conversations that go on in every boardroom of every Pharmaceutical company on the planet?

Are you seriously stupid enough to believe the point of healthcare is anything other than profits? Hippocrates must be so proud!

It's reassuring in a weird way. End stage capitalism is here and abandoning them in the middle of nowhere. What is humanity to do? What i believe humanity is at it's strongest make it work.

Biggest things we have been working is AI and space travel. With the latter going to mars in our life time is done. Musk gooning over grok it's over. Don't get me wrong is all around important but only matters if there is a sustainable earth. We're in the baby steps of just figuring this out.

Same song and dance with AI but like having a second child back to back. Similar mistakes but bounce back faster and stronger. We are running headlong into impossible energy demands and sustainable information storage.

I'm honestly more optimistic than I have been for a long time now. We as humanity can make the impossible a reality and from there common place mundane set piece.

Can you imagine a system where we tax tax money (tax or inflation) to give "nutritious food" to millions of people, but a lot of that food is empty calorie junk food if not poisonous that makes them sick. Then we end up trapping them because they are reliant on us and on the medical system treatments for their pancrease, liver, thyroid, and so many other maladies. The dumb tax payers pay a lot more for that.

so many of those in this system are the offspring of prior slaves, and they end up entraped, obese, sick... consuming garbage food and getting garbage advice.

Chew on that business model. It's a beauty pulling in 20%+ of our GDP and it stink to high hell.

This is why I don't completely trust Drs.. They don't cure people, they treat them and kind of allow them to just wither away!
Mom had cancer REAL BAD a decade ago and all the Dr. wanted to do was poison her with chemo & radiation. As soon as I found out about her having it, I ran next door to the hospital and bought stuff to cure it for her!! Within 2 months, she was clean!! Her Dr. told her after a couple weeks, "I don't know what you're doing and I don't want to know but, whatever it is, keep doing it because your cancer is going away!".

I always suspected that cancer can be cured but there is more money in treating it. The new "weight Loss " drugs conveniently force the consumer to take it for the rest of their lives or else they will put the weight back on. This is not an accident.
