If humanity goes extinct, what species do you think will take our place?

I think the most likely species to form something that resambles a civilisation would be Octopi or cephalopods in general. They are ahead of many species when it comes to communication and object manipulations which includes tools. In addition their habitat is quite enourmos, even bigger than ours in theory. Downside is, they have a longer way to use our achiements as a "fallen race" compared to primates or birdfolks. Ravens and magpies already do that, in some capacity. Their short term evolution (not sure thats the right word in this context) is, that they learned best to live with our society.
I am far from an expert in that capacity though
