Happy belated International Men’s day, gentlemen?

Another International Men’s day has come and gone without so much as a peep from the mainstream media, and barely any acknowledgement on social media platforms.
I’m usually pretty good about honoring men and boys on that auspicious day. So i’m almost as disappointed in myself as i am in everyone else.
Consider this your overdue check in, gentlemen. How are you holding up? Did you do anything special yesterday? Who are the men and boys who are most important to you, and why are they important? Are you due for some “self care”? If you’re not into that, how might you honor those men and boys who enrich your life and livelihood?
We need each other now more than ever before in the modern era. Let us not take each other for granted.

You didn't exactly miss International Men's Day. The problem is that nobody cares about it because nobody really cares much about men except for what they can get from us. Those people that are looking to get something from us are generally women. Honestly I'm sick of the whole mess. And I'm sick of Women.

I didn’t miss it. I just forgot to put up my usual IMD post here. Better late than never.
I try a little harder to demonstrate that i care because i know how so few others do. I can’t make up for the whole culture, but i can do my part. The more of us who do, the better off we’ll all be.

In general, I'm doing well. I didn't do anything special. It was just a normal day for me. The only unique thing I'd planned to do was to post a MyTake about men and emotion, but I did not have time to finish it. I'll hope to get it done later this week.

As far as "self-care" is concerned, I have a regular prayer life and go to the gym almost every day. Because I have three kids five and under, I don't have much time for a whole lot else.

Every day is men's day. Right now, our esteem as at low ebb in the culture but it is temporary. When the shit hits the fan, women will cling to us like baby possums. Government and lawyers won't protect them. Good men will.
