That is they are considered the inspired works of the old and new testament. All the churches share the same books, but as I said some include additional information beyond the core cannon that is shared across all christian churches.

If you come from an agrarian culture or even a mercantile culture and you have no place to grow your crops or sell your goods on a reliable basis, you're never going to feel really secure. At the time of the partition and in about 1949 the land that the Jews know occupy was owned by Arabs who were not too thrilled about having it taken away from them by the British and the US, but there wasn't much they could do about it then. Since that time, it's a problem. Occupation of that land has been the subject of war after war after war. Conflict after conflict after conflict.
