We've all heard the leftists say that it's not the fault of the drug runners pumping drugs into America, it's the fault of the demand for drugs. So sometimes it's the humans fault and sometimes it's the inanimate object's fault? Of course I think this is all about blaming Trump for everything. If Trump announced today that he was going to demand more drugs flow into the country, even the most liberal politicians would be out shooting Venezuelan “fisherman.”
Why do leftists blame the gun, but not the shooter; and blame the drug user, but not the drugs?

Leftists lack accountability… Nothing is ever their fault and they project that onto others. Unless you’re a conservative then if they slip and fall on a banana peel it’s the conservatives fault.
It’s like how they cry about rape. Make things sexual that aren’t… But when someone really rapes someone the judges and prosecutors they vote in won’t prosecute or give a crappy plea. And the leftists celebrate by saying that poor person needs help. Let men into womens spaces and sports.
People ask, “Why do left-leaning folks blame the gun but not the shooter, and blame the drug user but not the drug?”
The truth is the question starts from an idea that is not actually correct.
Left leaning people do blame shooters. No one argues that a gun magically fires on its own. The person pulling the trigger is fully responsible.
What the left also says is this: some tools are so dangerous that they deserve extra rules because they greatly increase the damage a person can do. That is not blaming the tool instead of the person. It is just common sense, the same way we require licenses for cars or safety rules for explosives while still holding people accountable for what they do.
Drugs are a different situation. A gun increases a person’s ability to harm others. Drugs often decrease a person’s ability to control themselves. Addiction literally changes how the brain works. So the left sees responsibility on both sides: the user has choices to make, and the drug itself is designed to hook people.
So it is not that the left blames objects instead of people. It is that they look at every cause involved. The person, the tool, and the environment. It is not inconsistency. It is just a wider view of how problems actually work in the real world.

That's a fair observation but that doesn't represent the entire left. Part of the problem is demand it's not the entire problem. Demand for something is why the supply is available. It's basic economics. If people didn't want these illegal drugs we wouldn't really have them would we? I think you're possibly looking at things as all leftists have a singular belief structure that is very black and white and it's not. There's a lot more nuance and context than you think. You're making generalized statements and your framework to your argument is false.
i think leftists are people that have given up on any hope of fixing humans. they geneally live around a bunch of them and realize plenty are just nuts, thus requiring a lot of control for the safety of everyone. Its more that the guns have lots of potential for lots of damage, so they aim to restrict the gun.
they never come out against knives but those have been used recently to terrorize and murder a few people on trains and cars. they generally ignore these unless they are black victims of white crimes, which is their rallying theme. white victims of black, that is ignored and considered situation normal if not "time for paybacks"... which is never paid in full. they just outright ignore it.
If the US can't regulate guns, which can cause harm to innocent people at a distance, how would you suggest talking about knife crime, which at least has to be up close and purposeful?

I had to look up Superfund sites, they're polluted areas in the US; a failure of your government to protect the environment for decades, just like it was late to the party with lead regulations. Trump's administration's EPA rolled back regulating "forever chemicals" six months or so ago, FYI. Just like "the good old days".

Obviously, we blame the shooter as well as the fact that it's so easy to obtain guns in the US. Every country has disturbed people, but most don't make it so easy for them to have guns. Also, who do you think the victims of drugs and shootings are?
Drug abusers generally only hurt themselves, the victims, gun abusers kill other people, the victims.
If your country spent as much on people's mental and general health as you do on failing to keep drugs out of the country, you'd probably have a lot fewer of both groups because people would be healthier, not fearing or experiencing medical bankruptcy, and less desperate.

Drugs in most cases effect the user nobody else. If you do something that effects yourself why would I care? It's comparing apples to oranges as they're the same when of course they aren't. Making analogy's is a thing that's tried in arguments but rarely makes sense as most of the time they aren't alike at all this being such example.

That's a good one because guess where I live? And pretty much my city is filled with druggies and chavs but the thing is they leave you alone as you do them. Just for reference I've seen multiple times some dudes smoking crack openly at the train station. Naturally I think they should be arrested for doing it in public like that but did I get harmed? No they just sat in a corner to the side so you can ignore them.
Well I can tell you I've never been robbed nvm a home break in and my dad was on a bad street for +10 years where someone was stabbed down the road and died though that turned out to be a targeted attack not a random mugging or something. Now my dad's in a better area but only for the past 2 years and when I say better I mean only slightly, it's still the same city with the same problems.
they also blame parents for protecting their children instead of blaming the things and people that are menacing their children. like drag shows at schools and teachers telling them they can identify whatever gender they think they belong to

And they are NOT dramatically lower, let alone nonexistent as you claim. That’s the truth of gun bans. It didn’t work. It doesn’t work. It has never kept guns out of the hands of criminals. It just makes law abiding citizens defenseless. It’s absolutely no different than drugs. Illicit drugs ARE illegal almost everywhere in the US. They are still everywhere in the US. Which was OP’s entire point. If bans worked, you would have ZERO gun crime and we would have ZERO drug crime.
As I stated gun crime in the UK isn't an issue anywhere near the same level and we certainly haven't had anyone go into a school starting shooting people in the UK. Banning them greatly reduces the issue but anyone who has specific aims on getting a gun for illegal purposes will find a way but it cuts out the crimes where someone who just happens to have a gun uses it

You can't control a shooter but you can control access to guns. If you think about it, if there were fewer guns, and more difficult access to them, there would be fewer shootings.
You can definitely control mental illness. Public mental health help is under funded. People drive cars into crowds of people and no one says we need to keep cars locked in safes. Mentally ill people abusing a tool has nothing to do with the tool. You can spend 5 minutes online and then make a shotgun or homemade explosive spending 20 bucks at a hardware store. Look what happens in a prison when you take away weapons. They make their own... if you can't keep weapons out of a prison you can't keep them out of a society. Poor cultural and societal values are to blame for the mental health crisis.

Because people are the same all over. There are just as many disturbed people in other countries, who would commit mass shootings if they could, but they can't get a gun.

Because we are the only country in the world that has mass shooting with the frequency we do. We are not the only ones with guns. And it comes down to the ease and low price of firearms. While shooters and mental health are an issue the non uniformity of gun laws across the US. The argument stands with a restricted flow of firearms it would make them much more expensive and harder to access.
That's the logic and it seems to hold up in global mass shooting statistics
