The guns put out bullets that hurt people the trees put out smoke and fire that hurts people.
So why are they blaming the guns and not the people shooting them in the first case and not blaming the trees but "Climate Change" in the second? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

So why are they blaming the guns and not the people shooting them in the first case and not blaming the trees but "Climate Change" in the second? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
most people that complain don't actually get into the full aspect of gun violence but chant no more guns. people seem to overlook the obvious guns do not point or pull their own trigger, there is someone behind that action. and as we have seen if not guns anything can be made into a weapon if someone wants to hurt or kill. automobiles, knives, bats, even their own hands.
Precisely.
Far more people are killed in cars every year than by guns. So why not ban cars? And so called "Assault Weapons" are used in only a fraction of 1% of all murders. Yet the Democrats are so focused on this topic and ignore the other 99%. Fakes, phonies and frauds.
That wouldn't be like blaming guns for shootings, that would be like blaming the people who get shot for shootings. Like victim blaming. And that's what republicans do, not democrats.
VAWA would like a word with you...
@NamerOfStars... is that supposed to be a counter example?
No, it's a refutation- a law whose primary use has been as a bludgeon to make its victims suffer. Much the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution, or the formal condemnation of Snowden that Obama wrote. While Republicans are certainly not above visiting, this is DEEP Democrat territory.
@NamerOfStars so, u know that Republicans passed VAWA right? Yeah democrats were the ones who supported a newer version of it, but Republicans didn't want to change it. I'll be honest I'm not super versed on that law, so maybe I've missed what ur talking about. But based on what I've been able to find I'm not sure how this proves ur point. Even if all 3 were correct refutations. I can definitely agree I was too generalized in my first comment—neither party is above victim blaming. But i was talking about in general. And 3 examples, even if all good examples, don't rlly change the massive normalcy of victim blaming on the right.
Democrats are not blaming guns for violence. They realize that violence is a people thing. But they are smart enough to realize that guns help violent people faster and at a distance than a stick does. The Republicans realize that, too, but they are more interested in money donations from the gun lobby than in saving lives.
Because that doesn't gain them votes, power or money.

do guns put out bullets without a person pulling the trigger? do you really not see the difference between a tree burning?
how is this even a "democrat" talking point? this is just common fucking sense dude.
Why should we blame trees when forest fires are caused by climate change and climate change is caused by humans? Tree’s aren’t intentionally setting themselves on fire the way humans are intentionally emptying their guns into other humans.
Humans and guns are both the problem. There’s really no reason anyone other than the law enforcement/military would need a such a weapon. They always end up in the hands of the wrong people and innocent lives pay the price.
It's because they didn't rake the forest!
