that's a human trait. is it core personality? upbringing, lack of training and discipline?

I see issues across the isle, it isn't political alignment.

Im a softie and my wife is quite firm, kinda like trump I've said to her. I've come to understand her viewpoint... cannot enable people. If enable people, it just leaves them sick. General Patton got movement out of people! My view is have to care for the inner child of the person which is where the root problem is; but have to realize... they don't want to change, they are sick, may not be able to change and can be quite hazardous. Those people will suck you into their world, blame others... can't see their problems.

Example: I went with church to help cleanup someones trashed yard. Bunch of church people went, the homeowner never came out. who knows what they been through but definitely drug situations going on with all the needles. Church people happy to have helped the community and some neighbors I talked with were very happy to see us engaged, as the city did nothing. No improvement made in life of the person there... probably could care less as the filth inside house 10x worse.

Wife frowned on hearing this because the homeowner did not show up. We talked it over, but she has a point. Want help, show up, do work, be thankful. Don't push it to others, get moving. A lot of people really are terrible, abusive. I see that more as personalities, but it's broken adults.

I will introduce this thinking into the community. I like to help others, it takes time to crack through the shells of sick people. but enabling is different. They need movement to get from where they are to somewhere else. Some humans people have just given up. So many I meet suffering in the area, won't take initiative and go to church, find real connections. That... is to their demise.

It's possible to change a child. Adults are harder, they are controlled by their beliefs and wounds. Its possible in some cases. Anything is possible with God.

Most people don't show up at church or care and will ignore. Most democrats I meet are glad to tell me what Im doing wrong, but won't help... but I do volunteer with some democrats. I don't agree with them, they are emotionally different and think different. They are more, hopeless, fear oriented people in my view. But I see their points.

Many republicans will point a finger and even ignore, but I work with them, and I agree with them more so.

For Reich Wing brains an Authoritarian approach where everything is a simple black and white problem with simple right and wrong answers is all they are capable of understanding. They lack the intelligence and cognitive ability to understand complex problems with uncertainty and a range of probabilities. They hate being confronted with their own limitations. They are humiliated at being wrong all the time. That's where the hate and cruelty and lack of empathy comes from. That's also where their craving for certainty through the lies of a religion comes from. They want a simple world that never changes. It's all stupid people are capable of coping with.

cruelty doesn't have anything to do with it. the appetite for money is insatiable and if something happens that's cruel, then it's just something that needed to happen to keep the money flowing. every single person in congress is guilty of accepting money for passing legislation.

It's not that we don't have empathy, just that we're capable of discerning between logic and emotion. I feel empathy for drug addicts and know that giving them more drugs isn't going to help them. Am I cruel for not giving a drug addict more drugs, or am I caring for not enabling a damaging behavior?
