The other 119,999 Afghans seem to be alright so far. Pretty good vetting. But the right would make 120,000 people who fought on their side suffer and likely be killed by a vengeful Taliban to avoid one incident like this.

Also, there were more than 20 other fatal shootings in the US on that day alone (not counting any killed perpetrators). On average the police shoot about three people a day.

The guard shouldn't even have been in DC in the first place.

No, first I heard it. Last I heard was that one of them, a 20 year old woman, ad died so, the guy now stands on murder charges.

It seems to me that either way it would have been a problem. I have no idea why it was important to the Trump administration to do that or to leave it as it was. It would not have had that much of an effect one way or the other. It's not like the guy would have changed his mind about what he did based on the status he held. He was going to do it anyway. Again, I think he did it because he was angry at the way the United States invaded and trashed his country for no obvious reason at all other than to enrich Us arms manufacturers. The usual reason.
