We were harassed by a country cop when I was a child for not having a fishing license in Okeechobee it turned into a big issue and my dad said you’re not taking my son to juvenile because they wanted to take my brother and my father to jail because he didn’t want to pay their fine then the cop said will have to take the boy to juvenile because we didn’t have a license. You’ve got to be kidding me but we fixed it my dad made a phone call and fixed it right away, but we all had to follow the cop to jail and I waited in the waiting room for a short while

I went to a remote island with a friend of mine. He had a homemade cannon. We set it off on that island. This was in 2003 the year after the attack on the World Trade Center. We were going back when we encountered 6 Coast Guard vessels. They were looking for the source of the explosions.
We expected ot be boarded but out boat was so small they hardly noticed us.
If I was smuggling illegal drugs I would ecpect consequences.

@lightbulb27 It would be advantageous for a trawler to get to and from a fishing ground quickly. How fast did the one you were on go? Google gives 25 knots as the top end.
