What do you think about AI being able to casually reanimate pictures of your dear ones that are no longer present in your life? Is it ethical?

I’ve seen this, I have to say it is bad.
At first it started with a dead relative from this family member then it moved onto recent pictures.

It makes them do things and act in ways that are not natural to their character, I would know because it made me do things and act in ways I wouldn’t and know I haven’t in the moment.

I find it immoral and inhumane, on the other hand if it helps someone grieve then let them grieve, don’t judge them however please don’t use AI to pretend to be your loved one because these companies thrive on you spending time on their products to grab your attention so they make money. Not about helping you grieve, it is about keeping you on their platform to help monetize the grieving process. Seek human one on one therapy, reach out to friends and loved ones who care about you, and those that are there to help not ChatGPT.

That's one aspect of AI that I think is pretty cool but, I'm not so sure AI is such a good idea!! Look at all the fake stuff we have now because of it!! What happens once it gets WAY better at doing it? We won't be able to trust ANYTHING we hear or see!!

I don’t see any positive outcome to it. It could easily be used to manipulate and swindle money out of naive people. And it screws with peoples emotions and grief - grief is a natural process after losing a loved one. As the saying goes, don’t beat a dead horse. Let the dead stay dead.

It's not ethical if someone presents them as truth in an attempt to obtain something of value. Otherwise it doesn't affect anyone other than the viewer.
