5 moSo... I read this passage:
"They include, as Ken Klippenstein first reported:
“[A]nti-Americanism, anti-capitalism, anti-Christianity, … extremism on migration, extremism on race, extremism on gender, hostility towards those who hold traditional American views on family, hostility towards those who hold traditional American views on religion, and hostility towards those who hold traditional American views on morality.”"
I'm not going to lie, I think I would be safe. On the contrary, I can find one case where President Donald Trump could be under fire, and that is "hostility towards those who hold traditional American views on morality". I mean... Demo (n) crats are definitely no paragons of traditional morality, with their pro-abortion stance and whatnot, but they did (for their own purposes) support the victims of the genocide of Palestinians in Gaza and President Donald Trump was very hostile towards those protesters. Not saying they were genuine, but in general, supporting the victims is very much traditional morality, so technically speaking, President Donald Trump defined Himself as a potential "domestic terrorist"!

Asker5 moHe keeps telling us what he is and what he believes in and what he doesn't do and what he doesn't believe in. And I think we ought to believe him, actually. He's described himself fairly well.

Oh, make no mistake, I am still a non-American MAGA supporter. The alternative is, to use a Shoe0nHead expression, the "young men eat shit and die movement".
It's just that I do see and tend to call out any shortcomings within MAGA. Funnily enough, no MAGA supporter here on GaG ever had any rant against me doing it, even though I am becoming pretty vocal about my criticism of the genocide of Palestinians in Palestine. I suppose they are more open to discussion and differing viewpoints than the "young men eat shit and die movement". - 5 mo
The closest thing to such a rant was a rather heated debate with a member of the MGTOW movement over my belief in the existence of good/sane women, but even that one discussion was perfectly respectful.
Asker5 mo@goaded as a practical matter, pro-choice is the same thing as pro-abortion, which in my view is the same thing as pro-murder.
- 5 mo
@goaded It is pro-abortion (or pro-murder), because by default abortion is not allowed, since it is murder (unless there's a direct threat to the woman's life). If it wasn't allowed before and after the "pro-choice" initiative it is allowed, the "pro-choice" initiative was literally "pro-abortion" (or "pro-murder").
- 5 mo
Well, for a start you're wrong about abortion having been treated as murder "before". Since the Middle Ages, fetuses were only treated as alive once the mother could feel its movement in the womb, and even then, killing it was not murder; the US inherited that 18th century English law.
Pro-choice is a return to the status quo ante, nothing more. Calling it "pro-abortion" is just propaganda: nobody's saying "try an abortion, it will be fun!".
Asker5 mo@goaded it doesn't really matter what you call it or what people say about it. What matters is the fact that it takes a life, and taking a life is murder.

There are many exceptions to the claim "taking a life is murder" (war, self-defence, bacon...), there are also many reasonable arguments why human gametes, zygotes, morulas, blastocysts, and even fetuses do not count as people. Then there are the end of life decisions associated with severely abnormal fetuses whose life, if born, would be short and in pain.
If you think a gamete is a person, and I suspect you do, then there's no point having a discussion with you.
Asker5 moEvery unborn human being counts as a life and counts as a child. If you want to pander to women by allowing them to kill their babies go right ahead but I'm not going to join you.
Asker5 moAs a matter of fact I do think that and I'm not here to please you.
Asker5 mo@goaded I think that is rather tortured logic, and certainly beneath comment, otherwise, at this point.

I clicked the link, found it's link to what trump actually did, read a bit, then skimmed, then said "wow, that's a lot but this seems like a lie". From what I can tell, this can be boiled down to Trump saying "I'm giving orders to people to investigate those related to people that performed major federal crimes". That has nothing to do with deciding any outcome. That's just asking law enforcers to do their job...

Asker5 moI think it's appropriate to attack him for things that he is planning to do as well. This goes directly to restricting if not completely eliminating major civil rights. That is a huge problem in this country.
Asker5 moInvestigating people is code for harassing a hell of a lot of people, intimidating them, sometimes beating them up, sometimes arresting them, and throwing them in prison. It's just code. Do you live in the United States? If you do, you should know this. If you don't, I understand why you do not.
Asker5 moI don't think you understand the amplitude of what he does or the rage he expires on everybody else.
- 5 mo
I would say you are the one that doesn't understand he is the same as every other politician. The only differences are which side someone is on and how much they hide their hideousness. Trump does hide it less, but there are plenty of the left that do the same.
Also, consider this:
If you vent to people with you about someone they already hate, nothing changes.
If you vent to people against you about a person they are for, they just go more against you.
However, if the people you vent to are suppose to agree with you, and you are venting about someone they support, there is a small chance something minor changes.
In the one case that could theoretically yield results, you need something that matters to them. So, in the case of Trump, you would need to vent to Trump supports about something Trump did that those supporters should be against. I. E. the epstein files, all the wars that aren't yet over, the taxes, and many other things they support but still haven't gotten.
Asker5 moHis resemblance to other politicians is not at issue, although you seem to think this mitigates everything. It doesn't.
- 5 mo
I'm not saying it mitigates it, I'm saying it's "normal" and thus complaining that HE is the one doing it doesn't make sense. Complain that THEY (politicians, government, etc) do it. Why attack an individual for something a group does? Attach the group. To attach only the individual is to ignore everyone else that is doing it. To ignore everyone else implies that you either don't actually care about the action and instead just hate the person, OR for whatever reason, you think that action is okay for some people and that person isn't one of the people it's okay for (hypocrisy).
Asker5 moWhining. "Other people do it" is a really crappy defense.

About a million things, that is.

Asker5 moThat assumes there is even going to be a court hearing. If I were you I wouldn't bet on that.
Asker5 moI am not that certain, but pretty damn close now. I'm sureTrump will find a way to make sure that never happens.

Asker5 moYeah, I guess that means free speech and freedom of the press and things like that are toxic to America, according to you, correct?
Asker5 moWell, I wish you'd tell your buddy Trump about that because he is planning to regulate speech and the press momentarily.
Asker5 moNo it isn't fake news. Trump published some stuff and Bondi is doing some alarming things at this point. That supports exactly what I've said. Try reading it for a change instead of just assuming you know what it is. Read the link.
Asker5 moAlso, I have absolutely no idea why it is that Trump would need a library given the fact that he cannot read and doesn't read.
Asker5 moThe man literally cannot read, so I'm not sure what he would be doing with those publications other than looking at the pictures.
