Why do lefties equate the US being a "melting pot" to allowing literally anyone in?

The US has accepted people from different cultures and regions, but that is not exactly the same as opening your borders wide-open, allowing freeloaders in, and flooding communities with hoards of third-world entitlement junkies while severely altering the cultures of an area.

Non-US foreign nationals coming to stay in the US is a privilege, not a right! When you enter into a sovereign nation, you respect their cultures, norms, and practices. You don't demand anything and you most certainly do not stir trouble or exploit their citizens.

I read a history of immigration if the last few hunfred years here.

There have been a couple of spikes of immigrants coming in but the majority of the time the levels were low.

The vast, vast majority of the immigrants were from Europe. It was 1965 when those in power switched it to start flooding the country with all of these cultures that class with ours and that we know do not assimilate.

When you look at how far some of these places are and what high crime, corrupt, backwards values, opressive, enslave women, pagen hotbeds some come from... why are Earth do we import that.

Somalia is a hell hole. The crime, piracy, backwards culture, fallen country it is. It is 1000s of miles on the other side of the planet.

Yet we ship tons of them here. So many they do not even assimilate but form little Somalia in our own land. They all get on government assistance. What the hell?

Haiti? Utter disaster of a place. Yet we start shipping all of that here.

Islam? All the women are opressed. They knowingly do not assimilate but they spread Islam and their goal is to take over. Start mosques... hate the west. High terrorism. Hey lets imports millions of them.

We are a melting pot but Trumo is right about taking in people from all these shithole countries. we want educated people like engineers and doctors that can get jobs, participate in the American dream and of course pay taxes.

So I actually think most leftists would reject the term "melting pot" because a melting pot implies assimilation which is not something most leftists think should be mandatory or think is even good.

I also don't think most leftists want unchecked immigration. I remember not to long ago Trump was talking about letting in white farmers from south Africa who were fleeing genocide. Leftist called it racist to help white people immigrate into the US and denied the genocide. So it's clear they only want some immigration.

As for the reason they want to let in 3rd worlders. Leftists are quite open about it, they want non English speakers with no understanding of US laws and customs to do all the jobs they don't want to do. These people can be under payed, and miss treated. It's kind of like a new kind of serfdom.

Well, mostly because it always has been. We let people in, in the hopes that they will do well, and they will mix with others peacefully. History tells us that by doing this we at least in the past created a great dynamic society.

A dynamic country with a lot of lot of innovation and creativity, and a lot of new technology and a lot of enthusiasm. We believe, and science tells us, that the mixing of different gene pools leads to vigor, and I believe history has proven out.

You and Trump and MAGA all want to end this, not because there's any scientific or social basis for doing so, but because of your inherent and disgusting racism. Racism is un-American on its face, and as a racist, you are not a patriot.

So let me get this straight, you believe bringing in people in the masses from Somalia, Haiti, and cartel-torn regions of Central and South America is going to result in a lot of innovation and new technology? Also, you lefties love to blur lines and don't want to distinguish between legal and illegal immigration.

Yeah but the thing is, right wing nationalists usually take in more immigrants than left. Look at Britain, look at Trump's current yammerings about getting talent.

The real issue is you vs. corporations. They need cheap labour, they don't want to pay you. And no matter what party has the senate, their main job is to make them richer.

And this dynamic will always create this problem. It'll increase it more likely.

Actually, with actual US-born citizens struggling to buy homes or even food, we need to be focused on restoring our own nation instead of being a welfare nation for foreigners.
