Fear drives those prices, and there's plenty of destabilization.
I guess there's a snowballs chance the dollar is being saved, if we can get 8000 people to pay the $5 million entry fee... it wipes out our national debt!
WOW! IF... and that's a huge if, we can get some key manufacturing jobs here, including the internationals to operate them and more productive factories due to AI and robotics...
we've got a chance for the dollar to surivive in some form. It's the rest of the world Id be concerned about... Europe destabilization and rebuilding for war, no end in sight to Ukraine that brings peace, etc etc..
What other currency you gonna buy? Euro... Germany is screwed without russian cheap gas and they won't get that anytime soon. Mexican Peso? China maybe... the yen... population collapse.
USD and Gold still the best bet around...
We left the gold standard decades ago. The value of our currency became a figment of our imagination in that moment. Our global standing was then based upon our willingness to do things for other countries. We entered the world’s largest popularity contest because we were a shoo in winner. Nobody bothered to calculate on the possibility that we wouldn’t always be the “leader of the free world”.
If any two major economies stops backing US currency, our economy will completely collapse. We don’t have enough resources to leverage under capitalism. We might not have enough if we went fully communist and the government took ownership of every major resource on US soil. The fat cats aren’t going to help our country. They’re the ones getting richer off this entire debacle.

The devaluing of the dollar (inflation) has been caused by the government choosing to print money to pay for excessive, wasteful programs including renewable energy. The government also supported businesses and whole industries to move to China.
Trump is trying to overhaul Fiscal and Monetary policy. One step is a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution. Another is nolonger printing money for "quantitative easing". Another is Tariffs that induce businesses to invest here.
The dollar won't collapse so long as we have sufficient commercial activity to support it and prevents government from devaluing it. Civics 201.
Now you know more than most Dick Owners here.
The US dollar is down 6 cents against the Euro since the Nov. 4th election in 2024. It was.916, it is now.853. It continues to slide. When Biden left office, the federal debt burden was 94% of the GDP. By the end of Trump's turn on his current path, it's expected to rise to 110% or more of the GDP. That's not a great thing.
December is always a down month for stocks and the dollar. Have to wait and see if any investors and money movers find confidence in the REAL USA economy come 2026... the REAL economy, not the one Trump sells you.
No. China and Russia are gather up the metals to support their own currency which will also be used to support BRICS. We have seen similar challenges to the dollar like the Euro and they fizzle. Brics has been talked about for 20 years.
This is all part of china and Russia going after the US. It was likely china’s idea. the war in Ukraine and Israel was supposed to sap our strength, but it didn't, quite the opposite with revived military spending among our allies and their taking a more fierce stand plus Russia is getting clobbered and Iran which is hiding in the background, got spanked like the bitch they are. China is now becoming afraid of Taiwan as Japan and tye US strengthen it. China will not take Taiwan, 80% chance of failure according to AI and models. Not much of a superpower if they can’t take an island right off of their own coast.
The dollar lost all value when The Fed was created. Ever since getting off the gold standard, it has been nothing but debt, something that could be manipulated and controlled. BRICS is exploiting this monetary flaw by refusing to conduct trade in it.
Yes it has. I mean it started long ago, but it has been able to be covered up by falling interest rates and cheap lending from other countries that were worse off. as our National Debt increases it is becoming harder by the day to cover it up.
no other country wants to fund our debt, it simply is too risky.
Covid money printing and quantitative easing were the death throes of the United States economy. But it started long ago the New deal and getting off or the Gold Standard.
The dollar has already lost 98% of its value. All fiat collapses with time. All physical asset have gone up against the dollar. I have 10,000 ounces of Silver , so the more the better.
No, the dollar is holding steady against other currencies. Metal prices rise and fall for multiple reasons. The one thing that could make the dollar collapse is if Trump decides to flood the country with currency.
It's been falling for a while but nowbwith China is hoarding gold (30,000 tons) and the US isn't admitting to how much it actually has (8,000 tons was listed in the last audit... in 1947 when it was locked in at $35 an ounce)
It's been collapsing. Usd has about 40% of the buying power it had 10 years ago. They are collapsing it intentionally because of debt. America owes about 38 trillion in usd. If they make usd worthless then they technically are paying less on the debt due to the devaluing.
Started? What did you think was happening 2021 to 2024? No, more likely we have bottomed, and now it's time to start selling off gold. See 1980-1984 for a likely pattern, that is, gold halving over the next several years.
Don’t worry so much about politics you should be concentrating on your college your football program and seeing how good they are and talking about it. Politics are very stressful
Is there a reason you seem lately so fixated on the doom and gloom department? 🤔
No, the US Dollar is still a strong currency, and the most common in the world.
The dollar has become a fraud but it is the best fraud out of most of the paper currencies. I see the Professional Political Overseer Class as the problem.
It collapsed when we went off the gold standard. Printing money for these wars had devalued it the most in recent years.
Should had baught physical gold years ago when everyone was saying to do so.
As if you could ever invest.
You're just a year late to understand this game...
Does it really matter?
I'm really past caring.
Nope
